New Manager - Welcome Derek Adams

The trouble with this appointment if as seems certain it is Adams it’s looking to be at least 10 days before he is in place which puts us behind the pace in recruitment unless talks have been held on who we are after.

 

35 quid for a scarf and hand sanitiser I mean I’ll buy it if it means helping the transfer budget but proves my point that Rupp won’t pump anymore money in and we are fairly skint

 

It’s extra money it’s proves nothing we already know whether we like it or not the club is run in a sustainable way as are most. The more the club raises the more it can spend.

 

Why does the club proactively trying to maximise revenue prove either of those points?

 

Seems I’ve touched a nerve with my choice of wording which I apologise for, but I’m trying to make a point that we can’t be expecting championship managers if the club are promoting a scarf and sanitiser for 35 quid. As I say I’ll purchase it as I know it will help the club.

 

I think the club should be being applauded for looking at ways to grow the revenue, and there's been a number of initiatives just launched which seem to be aimed at this. If we can have a combination of affordable season tickets, with add-on experiences/merchandise to increase the spend from those who can afford, then it seems like a sensible balance.

The bigger issue with trying to attract a championship manager here, is probably our league position being on a downward trajectory and the ridiculous turnover in managers, plus now onto a 3rd CEO over the period since the playoff final. It hardly screams 'opportunity'. Hopefully we can find a Parkinson type who needs the opportunity and can see some green shoots of potential.

 

I doubt it. Whoever the manager is, if we take Ryan at his word, he's agreed to the retained list so he will also have told Turnbull who he wants.

There is more to it than that. We approached him last November local journalists suggest it’s him. The fact the appointment is delayed it would be a major surprise if it wasn’t him

Basically, I read that as Rupp has no interest in the club.

Why do we keep making excuses for this awful owner?

 

Not disagreeing, but what “capital” projects that will bring a return... cant think of one that would be a saleable asset?
