The problem I have with this is that I'm a shift worker so even though I make the financial commitment knowing I can't make every game I don't accrue the same benefits as others that have made the exact same commitment.

Coupled with flexi cards being removed as an option these two initiatives seemingly punish those who simply don't have every Saturday spare but still want to financially support the club.

Precisely! If Ryan Sparks wants to know what "loyalty" is, I'll give him first hand information about watching City players of bygone years, starting with the likes of Tom Flockett, George Mulholland, Bobby Webb forward to the current crop.

Add to that, being soaked to the skin, stood on a wind swept uncovered Kop, watching mainly lower tier football. That's "loyalty" Ryan!

Yeah, I can't make midweek games due to the distance I travel. I have bought a 1903 membership so I'll get some benefit from that. I wonder if they'll add in iFollow passes purchased as I usually do that for a midweek game (even pre-COVID)?

Ultimately there will be no perfect solution that suits 100% of people.

Anyone know how much the Away Priority is going to cost? Apart from saying it's going on sale tomorrow at 9am I can't see any more detail.

Them were the days, what loyalty was all about.
Today it’s how many attend away games. You can purchase away tickets : a child ticket for let’s say £5, adult ticket £25 and OAP ticket £20. £50 in total . Collect your loyalty points thanks from Ryan.
Or buy three replica home shirts from the city shop pay upwards of £100. Collect no points from Ryan.
    Loyalty in action

I don’t think there is a fan who begrudges those who buy an away priority ticket and attend away matches regularly getting first goes at tickets. However when it comes to the very occasional big match such as Chelsea and others then I think other considerations need to come into it. People who have had season tickets for many years through thin and thin have shown loyalty people who voluntarily raise money for the club. So the loyalty scheme does a little bit in that regard

I got one in my basket but needed two, which I couldnt get as I had bought Alan's ticket on my membership and it wouldn't link him. Rang up, no reply, e-mailed, no response. Sad day, but I felt better for not having taken the selfish view to buy me one and not him.

    Well yeah.

When your fanbase is complaining that they're not allowed to pay enough, this is a very sensible solution.

Give them more and more opportunities to empty their pockets, as is their wish, without increasing ST prices for the rest.

'Spend what you like' scheme, while pretending only big spenders will get an away ticket to Old Trafford.

They obviously think they've finally got those little barcode scanners working properly now.

I only encountered them working maybe twice and the rest of the time the person on the turnstile wrote my membership number down on a piece of paper.

Ive no problem with the club trying to raise revenue but I've never agreed with a priority away ticket, I've always believed that fans, that the hardcore band of supporters who follow the club everywhere should get first dibs on tickets for limited allocations such as Harrogate or possible cup runs where a top team is pulled out of the hat. I guess there's no perfect solution but then the chances of you needing the points is probably slim anyway unless we draw a Liverpool or storm the league.

    I agree with you.

Although it's an easy case to make that if you're spending £20 for every away game, the Away Day Priority only adds £1 per game - that's how people like to dress up season ticket prices, anyway. You can then imply than the 1903 club only adds £2 per home game.

"Only, only, only" being the mantra of the subscription age, which, whether we like it or not, we're in.

So I think those who go to EVERY City game are being rewarded, and at a very small additional cost.

I try to make most sat home games which is an 180 mile round trip for me, I used to buy an away priority but only go to a few away games and have an overnight stopover, unfortunately if I purchased an away priority I have a lot less chance of getting an away ticket now because it is points based on the amount home games that are attended and not being a member of 1903 club even though I have purchased a season ticket and did not miss one game last season on IFollow including all the tripe that was served up classed as entertainment, maybe I should get back in with Shipley Bantams tickets won’t be a problem certainly will not be buying an away priority now.

I think the problem here is twofold
Firstly BCAFC do not have the technology to administer it
Secondly "Loyalty Card", spending money on extras isn't loyalty, it should be marketed as a "Reward Card"

Tend to agree. I am loyal to the club and have been since 1979 but cannot always attend away games and my days of trekking to places like Exeter are well over. Will go to local ish away games though. But I don't agree with the sentiment that the further you travel to away games the more loyal you are. That's tosh.
