How can a scheme that is being proposed for away games, give travelling fans least rewards?

My son and I are looking at Orient on 28th August by train. Tickets, food, train etc... A couple of hundred notes... Net 20 points to a loyalty scheme or buy some hand sanitizer, a scarf and an occasional email for 70 quid and get a net 80 points to a loyalty scheme.

A loyalty scheme for away fans!

Screwed this one up Sparks... Sort it out.

How many extra points do I get for being a member of the shippers?

Agreed. But it should be based on distance. Incentive is to reward home fans which helps the club financially more than away games.

The explanation poor too. Hopping between purchasing and attending.

Do season ticket holders get 150pts and 20pts a game? Or is that just POTD?

Some sanitiser, an away priority ticket and a load of home games will seemingly get you near the top of the ladder. There's never a pefect fit with these ideas but this needs a rethink.

Yes the 1903 club is just those things it’s also a way of providing extra money for the club which a lot of people wanted to do it is right if there is to be a loyalty scheme that it should be included

At the risk of being wrong:

It seems fairly clear to me that this loyalty scheme is intertwined with the ticketing system. Therefore, season ticket holders will get their 150 (bonus) points, plus 20 points for each of the 23 home league matches. Non-season ticket holders will get their 20 points for each match they purchase a ticket for, whilst to get your 10 points for away match you will need to buy your away tickets through City.

As others have said, it is a scheme very much promoting the purchase of tickets/memberships that benefit the Club.

I wonder will happen with the less popular home cup matches (including the Trophy)?

I'm sure more details (maybe a Q&A) will be forthcoming.

If the sole intention of the scheme is to provide priority for future away tickets then the only thing that should count towards points is attendance at away games, I do think they are confusing the issue somewhat by chucking everything into it.

Away tickets could then be allocated on criteria something like:

XXX number of "loyalty" points and above
XXX lower number of points and above
    Season ticket holders
    1903 members
    General Sale

I think it’s important that people who attend the early rounds of cup matches get tickets for big matches later . For example I wonder how many of the 5k who turned up to watch city beat Dartford in 2015 couldn’t get tickets for Chelsea

I suppose in one respect it’s a bit of fun and another way of activating the “ supporter engagement “ process.

What I won’t accept is someone being paraded all over the press and social media as

“Our best and most loyal supporter”

Because that will be utter B/S

But do the mechanics of the scheme, if we compare away travel (which I recognise you do fortnightly, in effect) against say the 1903 thing seem fair to you?

It’s a loyalty scheme those that travel regularly will after the period this scheme kicks in will accrue enough points to get tickets for most matches. But I do feel fans who support the club in other ways should be given an advantage as well

Given a pie is £3 plus, you should get 10 loyalty points for every Chicken Balti or Meat & Potato or as they need to list ingredients by percentage these days, Pastry, air, potato and meat pie.

It’s not fair away fans should be most rewarded, however that doesn’t really benefit the club financially. From a business POV this will help sell more memberships and away priority tickets so makes sense, I do think they missed a trick not getting points for cup games though as it might encourage more to come and more money in the coffers. Many on here have said in the passed that it’s important in business to squeeze every last penny you can get out of your customers, it’s a step in that direction although does need some tweaks.

I know Sheffield United have a similar scheme and I suspect a lot of other clubs, I’d be interested to know how theirs work. I’d be surprised if the club hadn’t done research into what works best for this type of scheme, that’s just sensible business.

They don't have a link in to LNER, Hanbury Trueman and McDonalds yet (coming soon) so you can forget points for trains, food & drink.

Away games give BCFC the least "take" so I don't agree. Should (and is) all be about £ spent at Valley Parade. Appreciate it's a big outlay and hats off to you for going, had it been later in the season I would have gone but am still recovering from a bank busting weekend in London where a bar bill in a rooftop bar in Leicester Sq was £198 for 10 drinks.

Laudable that you go so far, but spending money on trains, drinks and food in the smoke is no different to me spending money on a bus from Wilsden, beer in the NBH, a kebab and taxi home. It's just more of it and my spend helps the local economy which needs it more.

There should be a 1,000 point bonus for every Jackmeoffcup group stage match attended.

For all those wondering how they'll track the attendance of season ticket holders it looks like, according to the blurb for the home pre-season games, we now have the technology to scan an e-ticket. I know our season tickets have been scanned previously on the turnstile but I'm guessing we've upgraded that so we can now track that back to an individual. I might be wrong though.
