Bradford City AFC has launched an all-new loyalty scheme, rewarding supporters for their commitment in backing the Bantams - both on and off the field.

Beginning immediately, the scheme will assign loyalty points to fans based on how they choose to show their support for Derek Adams’ men, through purchasing season tickets, Away Priority and 1903 Club memberships, and more.

The scheme will be introduced to provide additional priority purchase windows for away fixtures from the beginning of the 2022/23 season, where loyalty points accrued this campaign will come into play.

Supporters with the most loyalty points will have greater priority with regards to all future ticketing opportunities, primarily away league and cup fixtures.

Should, however, cup fixtures arise this season where demand for tickets outweighs supply, the scheme could be introduced early, with all fixtures and other events over the course of the season offering supporters an opportunity to claim further points.

Loyalty points will be awarded to each supporter - by 31 July 2021 - on the following basis:
    - Purchasing a season ticket: 150 loyalty points
    - Purchasing an Away Priority membership: 50 loyalty points
    - Purchasing a 1903 Club membership: 40 loyalty points
    - Attending a home fixture: 20 loyalty points
    - Attending an away fixture: 10 loyalty points

Should have been introduced years ago but better late than never and more evidence of the club moving forward off the pitch

‪So it is 150 points for a season ticket and then do you get 20 points for every home game you attend? Or is that just if you buy a ticket for the game ?‬

Good question. It says attendance rather than purchase. But do they have the technology to record individual home attendance? And does away attendance only count if you buy from our ticket office, rather than POTG at the away ground?

    I'm confused.

Surely it should be more points for away games? You mean everyone who treks to Exeter gets half the points as someone who drives a mile or two down the road for a home match?

    Bonkers.

You're going to watch football regardless of wherever it is and should be rewarded equally for that. In the same way that a person who only goes to the home games isn't as likely take up the ticket for a game at Exeter. The home games are the clubs bread and butter!

Agree with others, away points should be higher than home points. Also maybe those away points should fluctuate depending on the distance, for example exeter away should carry more points than oldham. But its a start at least and something that's been needed for years.

I suspect they don't have the technology, at the moment, to accurately track actual attendance, so I suspect each season ticket holder will get 20 points added around the time of each home match.

I think this is a minefield and will lead to endless complaining to the club and hours spent replying to emails and phone calls with queries where people feel they're being "cheated". I don't think they'll have the staff to be able to look into complaints in the short windows between announcements and tickets going on sale.

I'm not sure they've really thought through the unintended consequences of starting this. It's far from simple to understand and could potentially have an impact on ticket availability.

Personally, don't feel too affected as I only go to a few away games and often buy the tickets from the club we're visiting rather than City.

The club make more money from a home match ticket purchase than an away one, makes sense that they'd want to encourage that.

Yes, a fair point. Does that make people more 'loyal' though? Perhaps a different name could have been used?

No not really, it is ‘loyalty’ to Bradford City rather than the coffers of away teams. At best there should be parity, but putting money into the club, is a tangible loyalty.

I hear you but then "loyalty" has different meanings to different people.

In addition, why not add in club shop purchases if its about putting money into the club? Or suite upgrades?

Its a creative idea but come half way through the season I hope they have a way of allowing 12,000 people to easily check if they have any points missing without having to email the club.

I'd say it's a minefield the club be best staying clear of

With schemes like this, you're unlikely to be able to cater for everyone, so you have to do what's right for the majority. In our case, I'd say at least 90% of our ST holders live within a 10-15 mile range of VP.

Apparently it will show your total if you log into your account in the ticket website
