@Briggus i could interview you for any job, you might have everything required on your cv, but the question and expectations might be well outside the criteria you expected! Next, Edin has wanted this all along, never mind strong candidate over the weekend. He has been helping a Edin with recruitment for months. The last piece of the jigsaw was Abbo, who will provide experience. Job done. I have heard nothing that will convince me that this was not part of the master plan.

I have nothing against the trio now employed as a management team, its how they have come to get these positions that baffles me. Rahic states in the T and A Collins was first considered at the weekend. Maybe he could explain why not one of the applicants interviewed was deemed the right person for the job? After six weeks of searching he suddenly has a brain wave and decides to employ staff already here. Surely they were interviewing applicants that had been vetted through their CVs to get to the interview stage. Something is amiss if every applicant isn’t seen as good enough. Lets face it, the position is a poisoned chalice, Parky saw it straight away and Stuart loved the club too much to take the job in the first place. We should have had ideal candidates queueing round the block to take the VP hot seat, instead everyone takes a rain check, or vacates the premises like all the off field staff have done.

Good luck Michael, Martin and Greg. You’re gonna need it.

 

Why did anything need changing when they came in, Phil Parkinson doing a great job a little more investment to the player budget and Edin & Stefan sort the non football side out who knows where we might have been now.
I'll give these guys my support but I feel Edin wants to run before he can walk, getting off to a good start this season is imperative or any optimism for the new season will disappear very quickly.

 

Whilst I don't disagree with the premise - how do you know it will be so bad, we could be amazing. Surely better to give the bloke a chance (yes man or otherwise) and see from there?

Parks like the neighbourhood bizzy body has to put his angle of things on situations. That don't even involve him Probably stabs kids footballs for fun aswell.

 

Problem is, any optimism you may have about Collins' ability disappears as soon as you look at the u18s results last year.

 

Thank you for posting a reasoned side to the debate.Looks can be deceiving and it is dangerous to prejudge imo. Too many parts in the equation that enable the precise chemistry to gain a place in the top 2.(or po's) Even the 'established' fail..ie the rest of our opponents who don't manage promotion! Not to mention the end of last season's 'figure head' either.

 

Josh Wright is 28 and Anthony O'Connor is 26. Looks like we aren't concentrating solely on displaying our youths.

Throw in Doyle (33), Killa (34), McGowan (28), Vince (32), NKP (31) who are all experienced and add squad members Chicksen (26), Dieng (26), Reeves (25) and even Wyke if he stays (25) then we have a very well balanced squad in terms of age.

Anyone would think we were in freefall when the new onwers came in when infact it was the opposite, the club was in its best position for a long long time. I guess some think that isn’t working, i beg to differ.

 

Just out of interest, how good was the actual under 18's squad? Did you watch them on a regular and get a good understanding of the players strengths and weaknesses?

Have we ever really had a strong youth setup? How many of our youngsters over the past decade have made it to the first team out of the hundreds that have gone through the system?
