A few posters absent this morning now this news has been broken ;)
    .
Anyone still believe James Mason left for a better job or left because Edin has finally shown that no matter what people within football say he's doing it his way and his way only.
Good luck Michael, Greg and Martin I wish you all the best in your new roles at Valley Parade we really do want you to succeed.

I genuinely think edin couldn't care less about what the fans think anymore.

He's so convinced he is the almighty and can revolutionise English football despite zero ability, it's absurd.

Mason was our last hope of someone reigning him in and putting him in his place, but even a city fan through and through couldn't stand working under him. Worrying times

The new coach certainly talks a good game - he's very confident, i'll give him that.
we'll see how he does with the first team - by all accounts his youth team played good football, which will be a nice change, but if it doesn't get results it doesn't matter a jot.

he'll be backed by City fans, and judged on results, but patience will wear thin very quickly if it doesn't go right early doors.

I'll give him a chance, let's see how the rest of summer recruitment goes, and lets see how we line up and perform in August - but I retain my worries over who's really in control of team affairs and over the future of my club under current ownership.
things will turn sour down at VP if we don't start fairly well.

good luck to Collins, Drury and Greg.

To be honest Bronco, I didn't "want" to believe that, we are Bradford City, a name in league one, 18,000 crowds and a genuine expectation of a top six finish each year.

Now, all I can do is believe that this was in fact the case and all these experienced managers have met with the lunatics who've taken our asylum and left thinking why the feck would I work for them.

There's no middle ground with this appointment, it's either a massive success or a spectacular failure. This is truly a sad day in the history of BCAFC. Laughing stock doesn't even cover it.

I thought Collin's post match interview on Radio Leeds was excellent.

To me Simon Grayson came across as arrogant, in it for himself and not willing to accept responsibility (he tended to blame the players) whenever he did post-match interviews.

Contrast that with Collins who struck me as positive, team focused, and in it for Bradford City first and himself second. I have to say. I really liked the guy.

If he carries on like that I think he will endear himself to the fans even if the results aren't always go our way.

    Onwards and upwards.

I'm glad the waiting's over. It's not Michael Collins' fault. He'll need our support. If it goes tits-up, we know who to blame. Roll on August.

Well Jackah, South York Bantam and How were all miles out with their information then.
I wish Michael Collins well, he is going to need it. Gets off to a slow start and it will become very toxic at VP.
Either the owners have lost their marbles completely or they have spotted a genius coach in the making, time will tell

Absolute shambles. Seems every other coach worth their salt told Edin to stick his model up his arse which left him no other choice. This is literally one step away from Edin appointing himself as head coach. I sincerely hope I’m wrong I really do but this season already looks like it’s got relegation battle written all over it. The owners just haven’t got a clue, it’s really very sad.

Exactly, you can go through a process and make it extremely difficult for any candidate to fulfill your criteria, and then hold your hands up in despair and say you tried! The length of time has been an important element here, so that fans are duped into believing all the stops have been pulled out to get a coach on board. It may well have been the reason James finally threw in the towel.

I believe we have a egotistical chairman in situ, who will take no advice, firmly believes he knows better than anyone else, and will never concede he has made massive mistakes. The danger to our club and reputation is worryingly high. Yes of course I hope his vision of football’s version of world domination turns out to be good one for our club, I will never feel comfortable while these two are in our club, and to think I welcomed them to our club. It is like inviting a lovely cat into your home only to find the next morning your home is wrecked and there is a full grown tiger in the corner.

    Neil Harris.
    Zero managerial experience.
2 playoff finals, promotion, stayed up.

Collins deserved our support, regardless of what you think of the owners.

Sorry posted this in another thread but having read other replies on this one more relevant here as relates quite heavily to MC:

Going to post this now as dont want to be perceived as jumping on any bandwagon in a few weeks depending on whether things are developing in a good, bad or indifferent way. I fully expect us to be up and down these first few weeks due to new management team, new players, uncertainty of system we are playing (more on this in a minute) etc.

For context, I am a Level 2 FA Coach but I am absolutely nowhere near the level MC is at. But last season I had the benefit of spending some time with Woking FC, they had a young coach called Anthony Limbrick who had a background with West Ham youth set up. He was a bright young man, an impressive communicator and had ideas on how he wanted the team to play. So some similarities with where we are now. Woking got off to a decent start but as the season went on AL had a problem adapting to a drastic downturn in form and results, and in my opinion getting the players to buy into a system and style they could see was not working. For the record the Board stuck with AL until the spring but they left is too late to make a change and were relegated to Conf South.

So move onto City, first job for MC is to find a system the players are comfortable with, thats suits their abilities and that they can buy into. Yes you need a plan B and possibly C for when things need amending - but first and foremost you need a plan A. In pre-season and the league games so far we seem to have tried numerous formations and styles - all I am going to say is the lower down the leagues you go the more the players need a simplicity to the system you play.

A friend who was at the game yesterday told me he was fascinated watching Edin's re-action during the match and said there was a lot of headshaking. We all know about 'Edin knows football' and the coaches are really just a front to his own involvement - but my own additional question would be that he and Stefan have not shown a lack of ambition by releasing significant funds to build a new team but they have done so in the hands of a relative novice and without a pre-determined style of play that everything could fall into place in. This is not a dig at MC and there is no doubt he is doing all he can to influence things and hopefully these key areas will start to fall into place in the weeks ahead.

Final point would be we desperately need another good striker at the club (and this was the case before Charlie left). My own view would be Kai and Omari need to go out on loan at a level they can currently cope with and hopefully start doing what they are in a team for - to score and create goals! We have Doyle as 1 and Miller is ok as number 2 of 4 - but this leaves Jones as 3 and can we honestly trust what we can get from him? But having spent so much time (and cost) on his rehab we have to go with him for this season at least - but this leaves us urgently needing 1 more who can play at League 1 level.

I really hope we go for it on Tuesday in the Cup as a good run could not only help the financial coffers but also the settling in and confidence of the players for the sterner league challenges ahead. I don't think any of us really has much of a clue how the next couple of months are going to go but I just hope MC can quickly find the system and format he and the players are most comfortable with whilst everything beds down

Sorry its a bit of a long one! (ooer missus!)

Well i am absolutely fecking furious about this, don't normally swear but i am fecking livid.
Rahic has done this for his own personal gain, he will choose the players, choose the tactics and pick the team. Rahic knows football, well Rahic you know feck all
Rahic you are a dirty fecking snake and the sooner you get out of our club the better, you don't care a jot for the club or the supporters, you're just a fecking penny pinching self egoistic twatt
Well i hope your happy now you have full control of your toy with your three puppets.
And all you happy clappers can feck off as well.
We have been well and truly shafted.

Just catching up with everything that has happened since last night - difficult to know where to start. All City fans will wish the new coach the best of luck but lets be honest the whole thing is a farce, Edin is now in a position to control all aspects of the club. His ego is totally out of control, he has alienated or got rid of most of the staff at the club, many reporters in the press have seen through him but most worryingly of all is the way he does not seem to have any apparent empathy with the fans or care about our concerns. After such a long, frustrating and protracted review process for the new coach when it eventually arrived it had to be the catalyst to pull us all together and provide fresh hope. Instead we get the news of James M resigning the night before, Collins is on the back foot before he has even started and the most downbeat, defensive and uninspiring press conference you could ever believe. Yes City fans will all get behind the new coaching team (its not their fault) but ER is making a mockery of the club I love to suit his own massive ego and that he knows best in all matters. He does not mind being the pantomime villain if it gives him a chance to show he know best - I am frankly horrified at how he is alienating everyone involved with the club. Shame on you Rahic! I know this is perhaps over emotive but this was a chance to pull us all back together and the guy is still coming out with bollocks - he has no humility. Rant over.............for now!

When the away team playing 3-5-2 is leading 1 nil the last thing you’d expect is for the coach to throw on another forward and go 4-4-2.

It worked to perfection, it was all city last 20 mins

    Well done MC

People make negative judgements after no games. Surely he's allowed to make a positive judgement after 1 game :)

It’s clear every applicant worth their salt have sat down and listened to Edin and have decided to walk away. These appointments are yes men. It’s that simple. It’s completely indefensible I’m afraid. Our club is quickly becoming an absolute joke and I for one am completely gutted by this appointment. McCall, PP and Grayson must be absolutely pissing themselves

James Mason. Cleverest person at City. Found the exit door just before this nonsense was announced.
