Your basing that judgement after 1 game?

 

People make negative judgements after no games. Surely he's allowed to make a positive judgement after 1 game

 

Of course he is. I just find the double standards of some folk amusing.

If we'd have got a poor result yesterday people would have been playing the wait and see card.

We win and suddenly we don't need to wait and see we are champions elect.

No,I'm basing it on what the players have said in video and press interviews.
Why are you supposing I'm assuming that after one game? What has one game got to do with my post?

 

It’s half the battle if the players are onboard with the manager, however although it is a good start we will need to see how he handles adversity and how the players respond.

 

What do you expect the players to say? Of course they are singing his praises he decides if they are in the side or not.

You'd have to be pretty dense in any profession to say anything in public about your boss if you didn't want to be held in poor regard.

It wasn't a dig at you personally, I just can't get my head around why people thinks it's so special. You hear it season and after season at clubs up and down the land.

 

Double standards?? What are you on about? My post was reiterating what players were saying before we played Shrewsbury.They like him and his training methods and I suggest having the backing of the players (unlike last season) is a positive that can only be standing us in good stead for a promising season.Doesn't mean we will storm the league,there's a very long way to go.

 

Quite right. It’s synonymous of the tabloid press. It’s either hero or zero with everything nowadays. Barnsley will be a massive test. If we come out with something positive from that game then eyebrows will be raised.

 

Exactly. It was all good last season until adversity hit. Then everything and everyone collapsed.

 

I can
Understand why you'd say that and maybe it is a tad premature, but having heard Collins post match interview and a couple of the players, I totally got the impression that this is not the same old same old.

If Simon Grayson was old school, which I think is was/is, then Collins footballing philosophy came across as new school.

Yes, we might get thrashed by Barnsley next week, but I am feeling a LOT more optimistic now than I did a week ago.

 

I thought Collins interview focused largely on saying the team and teamwork a lot.

No. I think you got the message.

But for me, the team is what it is all about. Under SG the team was ripped apart. They were already struggling as a team when he arrived but he did nothing to rebuild it. An SG post match interview usually focused on what a great manager SG was and how the players were at fault and needed to pull their finger out.

Contrast that with the likes of Gareth Southgate who always spoke about the team and the importance of the team, and never spoke about himself.

For me the team is crucial. And I feel we need to be part of that team too and get behind the lads and the new management team.

 

But NKP or Killa for example aren’t going to go on record saying Collins is an inexperienced wankmuffin and his training sessions are shite now are they? Whatever they think of him they’re only going to say positive things in public, anyone who thinks otherwise is as thick as mince.

 

As ever, going well = tickety boo, not going well = ...................reminds me of the misgiving I had with the owners prancing on the pitch (Fleetwood) and making movies, that went well.......

Is there anything else that matters? Seems to echo the sentiments of a certain G Southgate who always banged on about the team and teamwork and look how badly that turned out.

 

Well done for getting the words wankmuffin and mince into the same post. Thats not easy.

 

Might work short term, but it's going to get very boring, very fast if every question about individual players is shunned with an answer about teamwork.

But, I'm not complaining, because it's just white noise - which is about all he can give at this point.
