The point @Tawheed@Tawheed makes is that it cannot be sustained for any prolonged period. Do you have a single example of a club punching above it's weight for more than two or three seasons?

I don't have any stats, I asked a question which normally results in an answer being given rather than responding with a question.

The new coach certainly talks a good game - he's very confident, i'll give him that.
we'll see how he does with the first team - by all accounts his youth team played good football, which will be a nice change, but if it doesn't get results it doesn't matter a jot.

he'll be backed by City fans, and judged on results, but patience will wear thin very quickly if it doesn't go right early doors.

I'll give him a chance, let's see how the rest of summer recruitment goes, and lets see how we line up and perform in August - but I retain my worries over who's really in control of team affairs and over the future of my club under current ownership.
things will turn sour down at VP if we don't start fairly well.

good luck to Collins, Drury and Greg.

The appointment of his coach had the goalposts moved, that's plain for everyone to see.

I've no idea whether he will be a total waste of time or be a success like Eddie Howe, I only asked if you knew how good the under 18 squad was since you are basing your opinion on his stint as the coach of that team.

So in all honesty, you are basing your opinion of him on him being Edins puppet and nothing else. So why not just say that?

    Yep, I’d say both.

Bournemouth probably just a bit smaller, but very similar teams. How either are in the Prem (and Burnley finishing 7th!), who knows. Much “bigger” teams (dare I say Leeds, Villa etc) aren’t there.

Therefore 2 good examples of teams who are consistently - 2 to 3 seasons - punching above their weight.

    Nice.

My only concern with this is it is ludicrous to even suggest Rahic picks the starting 11 each weekend.

Bang on the money there @Ricc@Ricc, if he gets them playing exciting and effective football the fans will be right behind them.

I've said before we need to push the players to play for the shirt and the fans like the team under Parky did, is this trio the team to do that? Hopefully they are but only time will tell, I worry they'll be in the McCall mould and too "pally" with the players

If we weren't looking for a manager then why did we offer a manager a long term deal?

You do know they are at least £50M in debt to their owner don't you?

Because we wanted him in a head coach capacity = why he turned us down.

It hasn't that hard to grasp.

Burnley incurred debts to their owners and have only recently paid this off. They required a significant investment from their owners to get them to the Premiership. It is only since they got there and their sensible management since that has got them to where they are now.
