At least there won’t be the constant rumours of discontent behind the scenes and Edin clashing with the coaching staff/players this season. Everyone knows the state of play and everyone who doesn’t like it has left. Despite all the negativity on here, it might be good for the club to have a group of players and staff who are all on board with the structure of the club and the plans in place.

If only the fans could accept that change isn’t always a bad thing and wait and see what the new look coaching setup and backroom structure can produce.

There was no leak because Edin only made his mind up over the weekend. Or his and Rupp’s self imposed deadline of we’ll see who we can get by the 17th and if not it’s Collins expired. Wouldn’t surprise me if this is the final straw for Mason and he wants nowt to do with it.

A surprising appointment but I`ll get behind him and the team. I support Bradford, it is what you have to do.

I can understand why it took so long. The Chairmen have a vision and a budget.
They other candidates either where not right, interviewed badly or made a dash for the M606.
To have the players chosen for you and told to just coach is not the English way. We (England) have managers who want total control. This is not what was going to happen with us so just suck it up folks.

But we have lived through decades of `well known` managers like Robson and Mr Beige and they pushed me as close as I`v ever been to giving up on my team. So good luck to Micky Collins Bradford Army.

Time to back him and the lads and lets see what he and the club do before reaching for a noose and chair and looking for the nearest high ceiling.

    Key Elements of this appointment:

    1. Rahic wanted control of what goes on in training and match days. He couldn’t be certain he would get that with new appointments. He now has that.
    2. Cheap, simple as, they will all have had a pay rise, so no big outlay for a coaching team.
    3. He is convinced that we can do this with young players, once again cheap. He has this now, with appointing the U18 coach.
    4. He now has control of all parts of the club!

What I will say to him, buy cheap pay twice. Yes you may get the odd bargain, but the general rule is you get what you pay for. This mission you are on could prove extremely expensive. Unfortunately our club will pay the price.

You deserve respect for this brave post Mr Outsider
It's hard to write a well constructed criticism of what you believe is wrong, when in your heart you want to be wrong.
I want to pen something similar, however the battle between brain and heart is difficult.

Next to no playing career? He played 369 games with championship , league 1,league2 and non league clubs. I'd say that's plenty of playing experience and before you start spouting that I'm just a happy clapper then your wrong , I'm a Bradford City fan that's seen managers come and go some bad some good and I will give Collins chance to prove himself just like I've done with every manager or Head coach we've had or future ones we appoint. A number of members on here are saying we will be relegation fodder but how can they assume this when they haven't seen what squad we have built.

Just one observation from this morning T&A articles - with GA being unwell Collins and Drury have apparently being helping Rahic over the past 6 weeks in targeting the players we want, style of play etc. Can you imagine the so called interviews with the other 10 prospective coaches, being told 'I know football' and his 2 youth team coaches have all these key aspects in hand - and we wonder why none of them were quite right for the job! I just dont believe a word Edin says anymore

What the feck is Edin’s game? He’s made an art of alienating our fan base who generally don’t ask for much and have put up with lower league football for pretty much all our history.

How can a supposed successful business man see it so different to the vast majority

The guys an egotistical troublemaking wrongdoer !

'Easy lover'!, that's quite a rant there O..
Don't know why you brought Phil Collins into it but you could be totally correct.. I don't know how it's gonna pan out but maybe 'Against all odds', if we're fortunate it will work out and we'll get 'Another Day In Paradise'.

The only positive I can manage to see in all of this is that when this fails and comes crashing down on Edin's head, financially we'll be ok. If next season is worse than the last Rahic will (in my opinion) be fed up, bored and want out. He keeps going on about his long term plan but if it's clear we've gone backwards again, I think he'll give up.

Even if it's a case of relegation and a 19/20 campaign in League Two, Rahic will most likely have jumped ship, but also left us in the black.

[lets go of the straws I've been clutching]

Let's behind the new coaching team and we have no choice to see how it will pan out. If It turns out well - then we can applaud the owners or not - hopefully the consequence will not be div2 football next year.
It would interesting to find out why no one out of the 10 + interviewed were suitable or why others decided the post was not for them. In the end was it the best financial option as the owners saw it?

Firstly I am glad that Abbott Is involved with the other two he brings extensive experience
Anybody who has seen Rahics workings over the last two years knows he doesn’t avoid controversy if he had wanted Abbott as head coach he would have been appointed
And why the implied dislike of Abbott in his time here both as a player and scout he has given his all.
Collins is not the appointment we expected but he is here give him and the other two a chance

No one knows how this will all play out but I think it's a risky strategy. If it does all go badly wrong then I for one will not be blaming Collins, Abbott or any of the coaching staff.
As for experience. There's probably enough experience to get the job done. It's more about getting in the right players, motivating and instilling confidence. Even McCall and Grayson couldn't right the ship once the team was low in numbers and confidence.

Applauds. Give him time I say. I find it strange that in the main the people posting on facebook are saying the opposite - get behind them, give him time, Jewell (and Kammy) worked out well in similar circumstances, yet most of the posters on here just want to moan and stick the knife in.

This has ceased to be a Bradford City Fans chat site, and become an anti Edin blog, hijacked by people claiming to be ITK spouting all sorts of shite about all the bad deeds he's done, based almost exclusively of rumour, hearsay, grudges and exaggerations. Anyone who disagrees is a happy clapper.

Give them time, you can't expect new owners to come in and fix a club that owned nothing apart from the players and expect them to a) carry on regardless with a plan that ultimately would sink or b) change things without breaking a few eggs.

Furthermore, I find it very strange that all of a sudden the world will end because James Mason has left. Three years ago this bloke was being slagged off left, right and centre for not being able to organise a piss up in a brewery and no he's the messiah.

I'm sure he's a very nice guy, but the world continued to turn when Baldwin left, and it will continue to turn now.
