Yeah we've done this one to death, it's all about the balance sheet. Money and a structure aligned to it with the ambition to succeed is paramount. All this mention of potential when no one really knows what it is. Jenkins or someone similar would be the first step in pointing this club in the right direction. Behind the scenes this club has is desperate for someone to give the club some new purpose, a forward direction. Someone proper on charge that's there because they crave success. And lets face it, it shouldn't be hard to get any club with a shred of ambition out of this division. Will be a culture shock for a fair few at the club though, they've never really been put under pressure to succeed before.

Maybe Rhodes was talking to him as potential CEO which had been ongoing for a while and now Jenkins has looked at taking on the club instead?

Over a year old and the link to Blackpool appears dead, but the interesting parts are:

Reference to having ‘allies’ who’d be willing to fund a takeover.
Baulking (rightly!) at an asking price of £65m, but a price of nearer a quarter of that being more palatable. 15-20m for Blackpool in League One, might mean that the sort of numbers involved with buying us, wouldn’t be outlandish.

    He’s clearly very well connected.

True and it started so well and then.................

As for Jenkins he has already a proven track record and apparently "knows football".;)

Depends on the motivation. Wigan will always be a Rugby town. There’s a bigger appetite, with more people, for footballing success in Bradford than Wigan. And the idea of ‘growing something’ seems to be the main appeal for him.

Trust me Manningham is sure at the forefront of "growing something" but it's not related to football.

I know what you are saying is tongue in cheek, but there is appetite! The liverpool friendly is a great example, if we got to the championship id expect to see 22,000~ if not full capacity.

The administrator wants £4m for Wigan. The ex Port Vale owner offered £3m

Good post FB. Wigan is and will always be first and foremost RL. It's tradition, in the water and in the blood. Even tho Blackpool have been in the prem more recently than us and are currently in a higher div, in footballing development potential, I would think we fare higher. Does anyone know what their premier league attendances were like, bearing in mind, away take up would have been sell out.

A little blue character that speaks in Dutch. That's all that Wigan want.

Yep - the Port Vale fans hated him! He sold last year and they have great owners now

Apparently since the administrators took over they have lost £3m so need to get at least £4.5m to escape any more point deductions.

Swansea's half the size of Bradford, in terms of population. Although, I don't know if it's an accurate comparison because of the sprawling nature of the greater BDMC district. But it's also pretty much a captive audience, unlikely that the vast majority of Swansea Jacks will be travelling to Cardiff to watch football. Whilst our fair City is easily within reach of a hell of a lot of live football options. With most of them of a higher standard than the fare on offer down at Valley Parade. In some respects, I think City do well to draw the attendances that they do, irrespective of the cost of tickets.

Jenkins' Wiki page mentions that he was interested in Charlton when they were having major problems with the club's previous owner. So perhaps he's interested in borderline 'basket case' clubs with the potential to grow both on and off the pitch?

I, for one, welcome our potentially new leek loving overlords!

This would be potentially wonderful news for BCFC. Nothing against Rupp on a personal level but under his tenure, it simply hasn't worked. The club has regressed , lost support and dropped a division. He in my eyes, also shares, so much responsibility for the mess Rahic left us in.

    RUPP HAS ULTIMATELY FAILED.

Now a potential change would be very much welcome, quite a tonic in these uncertain times, from a chap whom has previous credentials and somebody who has a genuine desire for the sport.

    I hope this has momentum.

Two different US based bids and RB lurking in the background, but the Dildo Brothers can't sell for at least a year or they'll be paying some very large penalties to the Government.
Can only imagine the meltdown if Daddy bought Jack BCAFC to play with
