Why are you behind the contract extension? He’s not performing out of his skin where someone will come in for him and he’ll bolt. He’s performing horrendously in each and every department. Why not leave his contract as it is - the end of the season, and review there? The extension makes zero sense at all, I’m not buying this stability b0l1ox either, there is no logic behind the extension, I’ve racked my brains and I can’t fathom it, never mind agree with it.

City has been my team since my first game in 76 Get Rid and always will be, I have lived in Woking for the past 20 years so I have grown a real affinity with them as my 2nd team. I am an FA coach and going to offer to scout again for City (I have done this once before under Bowyers team) and will advise them on NL players they should keep an eye on - and I will state now we will not be a NL club next season ;)

Stuart is going to rebuild the team at the end of the season and mould it round motley Henry.

Whoever our manager is would have a massive challenge (I would say opportunity) to evolve this club re the players next summer as we only have 7 under contract, so the next 2 windows are critical to future of City. As I said in my first post Rupp, Sparks and McCall can either seize the day or send us to the dogs but you have to give whoever you go with as manager the 2 windows for continuity and the chance to put the changes into practise.
Dont get me wrong, they all have a lot to prove and ideally we need R, S and Mc to provide a vision as to why this re-structure IS GOING TO WORK. They bloody owe this to the fans after the last 3 abysmal years.
I probably side on the optimist angle as a person and can only say it is a gut feeling that they also know this is getting to a last chance saloon situation - if they f... this up then I am not sure what the future of City will be. Like everyone on here I now await updates on what we are going to do to take the club forward and with Stuart particularly, I want him to be ruthless and honest over the next few weeks as to the changes he is going to make - we all know what we currently have isnt good enough.
Thats it for me tonight - have a beer fellas and a chilled rest of the evening

I tend to think of it this way. The appointment of Sparks only secures Stuarts position further. Sparks 29 recognises that Stuart is by far and away a higher figure head at the club than himself. So understandably has afforded due respect and an extended contract. Sacking Stuart was never going to be the first thing on Sparks "to do list" far from it. I think Sparks needs Stuart who is almost twice his age !. Many may be suprised at the extension of the contracts of Stuart & Kenny. But I am not.

We needed to dispel some "short termism" in their appointmemt and give some sort of stability to the playing side of the club. Stuart inherited much of this extremley limited group. Now Sparks has to back his man in January and allow him to bring in 3-4 proper players to improve his group. Then move out some in readiness for a full cull in the summer. Changing the CEO for one so "young" and changing the football manager for one with no understanding of the club or the players was a recipe for disaster. Not that we have averted that by any means.

Lets see where we go from here starting Saturday v Oldham in the Cup. Sneak through it and a big draw in Round 3 might just be the spark to light the flame of the Sparks reign ?

I’ve had time to sleep on it now, and feel much calmer this morning. What Sparks must do, and you hope he will with his communication background, is to acknowledge to the fans that these two decisions yesterday are somewhat left field, but with reason. He has to sell his vision to the fans, and put out a clear message about what his plans going forward are. We’ve lacked structure and communication for seasons, and now here’s a chance for him to put it right.
He also clearly needs to show that he’s got the backing of Rupp, and that he’s not just another yes man.
    Time to step up Ryan!

Sorry mate I am at a lost with what you are saying.

If this happened this time last year if it was Bowyer you would have gone crazy. Ask yourself why are we currently 20th in div 2? McCall should be judged on results.

The promotion of Sparks and the new contract of McCall just looks like we do things on the cheap with no method to the madness.

What happens if we don't beat Oldham?

    Agree entirely
Most people’s main gripe is how invisible and therefore quiet the hierarchy are.
Time for Ryan to use that communication expertise and allay some of the genuine fears lots of fans have. This has to be his number 1 priority. He’s not stupid. He will know what’s said on here and twitter. As you said
    “Time to step up Ryan”
Obviously this is all dependent on wether Rupp lets him “step up”.

Agree with that but not the last paragraph, sorry.
In the event we win Saturday the last thing we want is a big club. To start with the law of average says there will be more attractive fixtures for t.v. than us so no money. Second a big club would probably mean defeat and thus no prize money. Third a big club is likely to be behind closed doors or, if Tier 2, in front of a small crowd in cash generation terms.
No, if we progress for me the lowest club remaining which gets tele and possible prize money then see what the national picture is for Round 4.

Really? As a fan, at this moment in time as a fan I want the biggest club possible on the biggest stage. I don't care about revenues. I want a Manchester United, Liverpool, Spurs etc even if it does mean a good hiding!!!
The cash element you talk of (really, the way you talk suggests the club has cash issues?) does not align in my thinking. I want to feel the excitement of a glorious cup tie, in the bag waiting around the corner. Let's be honest, what else is their to look forward to?
