McCall & Black sign 1 year contract extension

On Tuesday in his BBC Leeds interview he alluded to some players not been good enough but would not state which positions - - obviously to keep individuals onside.

We’ve had some bizarre days but this ranks right up there just behind the Michael Collins appointment. Can’t believe any club in our position would have taken this step right now.
I wish them all well and hope our form turns around before the end of December or this decision will seem crazier than it already is. Our decline is alarming.

It's gone from declarations of false victory and unfounded allegations of cheating to sacking and denying the employment of team lawyers and 60 second long rambling press conferences.

That's how crazy things get when there's no longer a plan.

 

I can see the club wanting some stability in making this decision and let's hope that Ryan starts to bring this club off it's knees. But SM needs help, as has been seen with some transfer dealings so a DoF should provide a good foil and alongside a proper fitness coach and a defensive coach we may start to turn the corner.

 

Clearly someone taking the piss. If the fans were in stands, McCall would be gone. My opinion as a manager hasn't changed... he hasn't learned a single thing in 40 years of football. Crap manager and deluded.

He knows he in the last chance saloon. Things better start improving on and off the pitch. And fast.

 

Its just bizarre, i cant work it out, city must have some sort severance clause inserted.

If we go out the cup on saturday and go through december picking up only 6 points or lese, what happens then?

Surely if that happens mccalls job is untenable yet its going to cost us more now got to rid of him and black

Just when I thought 2020 couldn't get any more bizarre, it just did.

 

I can understand the reaction on here but I am going to buck the trend a bit and say I am behind todays announcements - what is killing this club is the total uncertainty as to whats going on and that has now been answered. I am not looking to persuade anyone over but as I see it Rupp, Sparks and McCall now have an obligation to deliver or this club goes to the dogs. We need to see what happens in the days ahead as further plans are revealed but I just sensed a difference in Stuarts comments the other night about changes ahead (before he has toed the party line that he has what he wants)

I hope over the next week some of the fiercest critics on here will mellow a bit but I agree it is down to the club now to win the fans back - we dont choose our club, it chooses us! A true fan cant switch his football club like he can a bank, holiday, car choice etc but for too long this emotional tie we have to the club has been taken for granted - I just hope today is the first day of a better future for Bradford City and all its fans.

Please dont over abuse this view and cast me just as a happy clapper - I honestly am not (but in case I still might lie low until tomorrow )

 

I will mellow a bit if he becomes a bit of a half decent manager and sticks to a plan rather than flip flopping all over the place

 

If things don’t improve on the pitch then the fans will probably turn on sparks and Rupp for this decision.

 

Simon, you follow non league Woking, so you can give all City management team- sparks/McCall/Black a heads up as what to look forward to!!

Does anyone else feel like the club is trolling us a bit today ahaha?

Whoever heard of a manager being given a contract extension when the club sat in 20th place?

It’s just risking money in compensation if we have to sack him down the line.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept Stuart even if we get relegated, I can honestly see him managing us if we’re in the National League next season.

Pure insanity this decision, it’s like one of us extending our broadband contracts after having a poor service, just doesn’t make sense, you look for a better option. But I guess we don’t have any options anymore.

I’m still hoping Stuart can turn it around but a silly silly error in judgement giving him a contract extension when we’re in the middle of a relegation battle.

2 points above the drop zone, season looking like a relegation battle, manager gets new contract. I agree with @Fordy117, absolute shambles.

 

Just why? And why now.

Is 3 wins in 13 a sign that something good is round the corner. This season might finish me off for good until Rupp and his crackpot regime are gone.

Managers out there who would jump at this chance . I’d even be willing to try a non league manager . We seem to have one of them anyway

 

Rather City in the National League managed by Stuart, than City in the Champions League managed by anyone else.

It will just mean more.
