    I guess that could be the thinking. A DoF isn't sorting things overnight and he is going to need time to put into place the groundwork he needs to get the club playing how he wants. You keep McCall there as a sign of saying 'We are putting things in place' which will give players you might sign some faith that there is a plan and then later he is one of the last pieces to sort out with a more suitable choice

    2.7k users so far today. That's more than Saturday had but about 100 less than Tuesday and 200 less than yesterday but still plenty of hours to go. Still down on most of September where we were averaging around 4.5k a day

    Hhahaha! I've been off the tinterweb all day today, and logged onto FB to see "breaking news, today we can announce Stuart McCall and his assistant"....of course you can guess what I thought i was going to read next. Being given contract extentions, wasn't what I was expecting.
    And then double hahaha, I read that Sparks has been given the CEO job.

    Wow.

    So the picture of the guy with Stuart today confirms that was his bit of muscle fresh from walling up Sparks and telling him to get the contract sorted or he would ram his hair gel up his arse.

    His contract renewal is based on Clayton scoring 4 goals this season.
    The club have already started cleaning his locker out.

    The penny might have dropped with Stefan Rupp that proper funding is needed to turn this club round and i think he's going to do it. I can feel a shift in thinking and direction, probably bee'n a learning curve for him , let's hope it all works and we can get back to enjoying our footie again.

    I’m sorry but this has to be one of the most bizarre decisions I’ve witnessed in my 40 years following this club.

    It is absolutely sheer madness of the highest order! I just can not think of one reason why you would even discuss this, yes give him the season if you want but how can you possibly reward a manager with an extended deal when we are dropping down the league like a stone.

    ABSOLUTELY CRAZY DECISION, it’s like Julian Rhodes is deliberately trying to stitch us up before walking away!

    Now I realise where his "give me 18 months and I'll have this club back where they were" comment came from in his post match interview, I'd suggest he knew what was being offered.

    100% agree. In all my years supporting this club I have never been so underwhelmed by the future ahead. Of course, I wish them the absolute best and luck and hope I am wrong. However the Sparks and management update don’t stink of stop the bus moments do they??

    An announcement of a DoF of some quality/background/reputation might restore some promise - however today’s announcements are completely baffling in my opinion.

    I’m shocked as most of you are, but taking a step back and thinking about it... Who the hell would want to take on this sinking ship, and which players can we attract to a club languishing near the bottom of the table, with a very real chance of relegation?

    We can only hope and pray for a change in our fortunes. A couple of wins on the bounce and it hopefully could be a start.

    At best, with this squad, I’d be happy just to avoid relegation out of the league. That would really kill the club.

    I’m just too burnt out with this crazy club to want anymore this season
