We made Carlisle City Rejects look like Man City over BOTH legs. Come on Hughes. Your players, your tactics, absolute garbage. Yet another zonal marking failure from a cross. He hasn’t a clue yet “it’s my way” whilst I’m here. Well do one, because the tripe we have served up this season has been dire and any other manager would have been sacked by now. And yes, I’m bloody angry.

I couldn't believe it when I saw Hughes sat back in the dug out after they scored the third. Very poor management when he should have been on the touchline cajoling and encouraging the players

 

No because they know that they have a manager who knows what he's doing can you say the same about Hughes ?????

 

I'm weary from all the managerial changes we've had. Listening to all the crap about 'how big this club is' and it 'being in the wrong league'. All the 'only signing players who can play in front of big crowds and can handle the pressure'. The 'making VP a fortress and making the opponent scared of the atmosphere'. It's just so tiresome and repetitive.
As much as I'm disappointed with the opening performance, I'm hoping Hughes isn't as stubborn as he was last season and changes things quickly. The injury to Taylor might be a blessing in disguise, Hughes hooking Smallwood might be telling (certainly hope so), and with having the remaining few weeks of the window to identify the weaknesses, let's hope we can recruit the right personnel, whilst getting rid of those who won't feature at all. Let's stick with Hughes for now until we see its not going anywhere but still have a chance to get up.
We've tried no experience managers, to a manager with the highest of experience at the top of football. We’ve tried partnerships, single managers with no assistants. We’ve brought back managers for a second time. Managers with promotions on their record, big names, and little known names to owners who think they are managers, yet we continue fail. I had hoped with Hughes, that he might have brought along some real investment into the club (that was certainly the rumour I heard), but although we've seen small off field investment, we haven't had any serious investment and my fear is until we do, we're going to be also rans for a while yet.

 

But you can't use one stat in isolation mat, yes our away record was very good but IMO our home record/performances is the one that let us down and we need to improve on, some of the stuff we dished up at home last season was poor at best.

 

Can’t say I’m a Hughes expert regarding his other clubs and what formations he’s used previously but it just seems so random to decide to change a formation that was tried and tested and got us the fifth best defensive record last season.
I think most people thought a bit more attacking threat from midfield (Pattison) and another striker to help Cook(??) was the minimum we needed.
Not a complete sea-change that we didn’t actually recruit for.

 

It's a view. Huge amount of conjecture and I find it hard to get past his use of feminine in this context.

 

Have just changed my vote to twist after yesterdays shambles.

Some of the squad were recruited to play in a back 3 and that has been a dogshit formation for us.
Hoping they can play in a flat back 4 formation otherwise we have wasted yet more money trying to get round pegs into square holes.

Do you really think one victory against a very poor off key Newport side would change people's opinions of MH
He has employed boring negative tactics from day one and won't get us promoted if he stays till 2030
His reputation/Intentions (which were clear to see) were sullied beyond redemption after the Carlisle play off matches
Bringing in a lower league coach to assist won't make a scrap of difference it's Hughesway or the Highway
I do agree it's too big a job to be done correctly for one man that's why unless we appoint a DOF (choose your own title) we can appoint manager after manager and get absolutely nowhere it's not worked well in the past Parky accepted
Things need to change drastically and quickly or we could find ourselves in a very real relegation battle
Whoever suggested David Baldwin should be given a consultancy to appoint the next dof and manager is on the right track Appointing big (historical) names/someone who has previously gained a L2 promotion alone is folly as has been proved
It's now time for multiple changes or I fear the consequences

 

This is a standard line that the media like to use for any manager under pressure. There is no logic behind having 1 game to save a job, if we win tomorrow then that shouldn't mean his job is suddenly safe and if we lose on Saturday does that mean he's sacked. If a manager is 1 loss from being sacked then just sack them now unless you are expecting a miraculous turnaround of results or you are just putting the inevitable off for a week or 2.

 

Why won’t he have the bottle? He is exactly the same as any other failing manager. Most clubs would have sacked him after the playoffs, not because we lost but the manner in which we lost.

 

It isn’t the baying crowd that is causing the problem. I just won’t have it, the crowd on Saturday would have been shouting Hughes name if he had set the team up to go after Walsall.

If you get people around you. What does he know about coaching/tactics etc. A damn lot. If you were a Champ or prem club do you want your players going out to be coached by Adams or Mark hughes?
