"We are already boring to watch because we lack any ideas when we are in the final third. We only have 1 tactic which is awful to watch.

Yesterday we had no game changers on the bench and even when we have our injured players back we will still have no game changers on the bench. We are a workmanlike team that gives their best and carries out the instructions of the manager. As I've said repeatedly before I don't think we play a formation or tactics that gets the best out of our players and therefore MH needs to change. He is losing the support of fans.
    "

Could be about us, but this was posted today on the Stafford Rangers forum, who are having an equally dismal start to the season (MH = the Stafford Manager, Matty Hill).

Please Sparkes, pull the plug on Hughes now. It's getting more depressing by the week at Valley Parade, can't take any more. Get shut of Gent too, his recruitment this summer has been the worst in living memory

It's coming. I had hoped he could turn us around but the evidence so far this season, suggests not.

Some more vocal expletives towards Hughes in the upper kop and a one off chorus of sacked in the morning....

Cant see them sacking him before Tuesday against Tranmere who had a man sent off today.

But fail to win there and then free scoring Swindon give us problems, it hard to see him still in a job for the visit of Wrexham.

    Here is his views

Hughes reaction as Bantams fans let rip after Walsall loss
    By Simon Parker20 mins ago
MARK Hughes had no arguments with the angry reaction after City’s home loss to Walsall.

There were loud boos at the final whistle after the Saddlers came from behind to claim a 3-1 win at Valley Parade.

It was the second home game in a row when they have been booed at the end - and Hughes, who was targeted by some fans, could understand the frustration.

“There are always boos when we lose,” said Hughes. “We have to accept that.

“They were justified today because the second half wasn’t where we needed to be and we conceded poor goals.

“I was reasonably happy up to the point where we scored the goal. But unfortunately, we conceded two before we went in at half-time.

“The second half was a disappointment because we couldn’t really gain a foothold in the game. It was very easy for them just to clear their lines and get up the pitch.

“We found it very difficult to create anything of note. We looked a little bit leggy, maybe some of the guys who had played during the week looked five per cent down on where they needed to be and were half a yard short.

“We just need to find a consistent level.

“Last weekend we were excellent at Newport. Today we were not, so those peaks and troughs need to level out.”

City had scored first through Andy Cook’s penalty - although neither manager felt the pull on Rayhaan Tulloch by former Bantam Joe Riley was in the box.

But Walsall quickly equalised through Liam Gordon after nobody closed him down.

Aramide Oteh, the ex-City loan striker, then made it 2-1 right on half-time from a corner.

City conceded a third to Freddie Draper from another corner early in the second half and the game fizzled out to the anger of the crowd.

Hughes added: “In the end it just petered out for us and we’ll have to learn from it. The set-play work wasn’t where we needed it to be today.”

It’s.a long way back for Hughes now. I think we have to get rid. He might last another week but defeat at Tranmere and another pitiful display next Saturday will 100% be the end.
He’s sadly fallen on his own sword with the pathetic recruitment and the even more pathetic formations.
Also I wish the club would be transparent with the falling attendances as there were barely 11k in the stadium today yet they laughably announce 17k, 2k more than Tues when almost all stands were full.

If last week's result was at home then today's result was away I think that would change the mood a bit as the majority of fans only see the team at home so judge them on that. The issue for Hughes is that after the 2 home wins to start where we weren't the best but they were something to build on we had a flat 1st half against Grimsby then any momentum we got from the 2nd half was gone in the Harrogate match then today within 3 minutes of scoring we are level. Teams now know if they keep us quiet until half time they are very much in the game and the crowd will turn and with that pressure builds on the players.

I bought a season ticket for my grandson this season. He couldn't go to the first 2 games due to other things his family were doing. I haven't brought him yet as I don't want his first taste of City to be a chorus of boos and anger.

My lad has been to two games, today and Harrogate. Weirdly he was more interested in Harrogate match which was dull as ditch water but he still wants to go again
