Went tonight and a great win and a superb goal by Cook as he chased the defender down, robbed him of the ball cut inside and beat another defender before lashing it in to the net. The supporters behind the goal went absolutely bananas celebrating. Was with my mate caught in the middle of the yoof celebrating which was an experience. every player was MOM tonight the work rate and will to win was incredible

 

Just home from what was an excellent performance and well deserved three points. Referee was truly appaling and didn't even hide the fact he was a homer. Platt stupid for kicking the ball away but the foul given against him was a dreadful decision and his first yellow was incredibly harsh.

Strange how we can press so well and play with a real speed and intensity away from home but often look clueless at VP. Get that home form right and we'll be flying because we've just gone to yet another supposed promotion rival and walked away with a deserved three points and a scoreline that flattered our hosts.

 

It's debatable that it was even a foul which is why he kicked the ball away in frustration, yes I will admit that he shouldn't have done that but more embarrassing was the conduct of the Mansfield players rushing up to a very weak referee in order to get Platt sent off.

 

A lot of good performances tonight. One thing I have noticed is that Brad Halliday is getting better and better. I have been one of his biggest critics but the role is being asked to play in getting forward more from fullback he says is quite new to him, and I had forgotten that he missed nearly all last season due to a cruciate ligament injury. He had a very good effort on goal tonight from just outside the box, something I wish more of our players would try.

He was and he got their tactics spot on. He has a good reputation as a coach in the game. Also despite Joe Jordan playing for L***s he was one of the best centre forwards I have seen in the game, along with Peter Wythe and our own Bobby Campbell.

Great win but had they equalised in them 10 minutes I would have just fooked football off ...........seriously somebody at the club should report them bent corrupt bastards

 

That was THE best all round performance I have seen from City so far this season.
From defending , especially when down to 10 men, to attacking. The work rate, effort and overall commitment was superb.

Wright getting injured and staying down for some time, Gilliead getting injured and staying down, our goal, their goal, the sending off, Cook getting cramp and staying down. That’s six incidents all amounting to one minute or more clock stopping, plus time for subs. I don’t think ten minutes was that unbelievable.

 

the same happens every week and I can put you money in it’s knowhere near 10 minutes ................ and the majority the players who do godown against will normally have a physio on ............. it that’s the standard of stoppage time then I cannot wait for the 15 minutes that come our way during our next home game

 

I thought 6 minutes about right and funnily enough although the board said 10 mins he blew after 7 minutes. He was a poor referee but we should be getting used to them by now

 

From the worst in the cup Saturday to the best last night . Let’s hope we can keep it up . Superb evening . We have a top following on nights like that ! Still buzzing from it

I know exactly why the fourth official added 10 minutes.

I watched the little Goth, yes he’s always in black , Cloughie on the touchline. Every time a player went down he was stood at the side of the official holding his arm up pointing to his watch. It became blatantly obvious what he was doing and so it proved.

 

This, I posted as such at the time…Four of them!

 

I enjoy reading other views on forums as it give a interesting opinion about us, we complain about the team not playing as a unit and having a big squad but the comments below give a outsider perspective on the squad.

What really struck me about bradford is how they did the basics well.

You know, playing forwards uptop and not in defence and having defenders play in defence and quality players playing in their correct positions.

Remarkable how by signing players where you need them and playing them in the correct positions can actually work.

What a refreshing change.

 

Could be a few missing saturday though, Chapman, Banks and Wright took some heavy knocks and they weren't faking it ...
