    You do make me chuckle

    Your Source
Words of no substance offered by the CEO at a fan forum.
Picked up and used by an internet blogger
Reiterated and regurgitated by a Mansfield fan

    Get real.

What does “Newcastle have been generous” actually mean……Zero!

The whole point you are missing is they invested in Jan … we haven’t, unless of course Luton were extremely “generous “ when then loaned us the invisible man?

I suggest he knows already, especially surrounding our defence.

Evans has to start for me next week.

I know he has been underwhelming for us this season, I don't think the previous history with Adams helped to be honest.

When he came on yesterday he was calm in possession and was streets ahead of Sutton and Watt with his passing.

Evans and Cooke to start next week for me, and Lavery for Robinson if Walker not available.

I suspect ROD will be back too

It was commented on, on the radio as well. I think we'll see it mixed up more going forwards.

They probably kick long because of lack of confidence in passing the ball and because Adams was never bothered about passing the ball in our half of the pitch.

I can see him playing Gillead as the ten role. He had a decent game yesterday. Evans, Watt and Sutton in the middle, with Gilly higher up. No idea what he’s going to do with Robinson and Cook, as that doesn’t work. Cook more and more is looking like James Vaughan. Battered by centre halves, back to goal for most of the match, and getting more and more frustrated. He showed what he can do with his head when the ball is whipped in.

Let’s not even talk about Songo’o.

The problem with whichever of our defenders play is that as a unit they are seemingly incapable of all having a good match together. They're all so inconsistent that one inevitably has a bad game or makes a poor mistake every match unfortunately.

He's probably going to give Lavery a chance as well. I'm fine with that, he seemed to be OK when he was used fleetingly and has played at a higher level so I would hope he'll have something to bring.

Tbh, surely all of our strikers are busting a gut to play and win a contact for next season to play under Hughes? Imagine how prestigious it is for a lower league striker to play under someone like Mark Hughes.

It will take Hughes a game or two to realise why Bass goes long like he does. That defence can't pass out from the back. An example being when Paudie cut inside their defender on the half way line in the second half but then lost control of the ball with no one near him and gave away cheap possession. Songo'o is even worse, just smashing the ball anywhere. The defence is Hughes first priority in the summer starting with those two centre backs.

I think Trueman made a comment about it as well after Tuesday's game, paraphrasing but something about it being difficult to get the players to try different things when it's been so drilled into them all season to play a certain way. Hopefully we will start to see that change over the next few games, but if Hughes didn't know before yesterday's game just how big a task that will be, he certainly will now.

the thing is with that huge task is that he only needs 3 wins out of the rest of the season and the task is done .......... I mean don’t get me wrong it’s gonna be a big job to rebuild but at least he’s more or less got a blank canvas to start with :)imagine if most of this lot had 2/3 year contracts ????? Now that task would be a lot harder than it is .................. just get the few wins we need and then we can wave goodbye to a bunch that in all honesty are not fit to play football at any professional level .......... I bet if you went over to Halifax you could bring in a few of them lot to replace that crap

If any of the half hearted players who have been stealing a wage for the last two years think they can just up there game now to earn a contract they won’t pull the wool over Mark Hugh’s eyes.
Total re build coming next season. I can only see three players who have shown any sort of fight this year.

Kevin this is League 2. Yesterday was by no means his best game for us. But he has been MoM on a good few occasions and solid in alot of games. If he had that consistency in every game, he wouldn't be playing for us - he'd be in Lg 1 or above.

Can I put forward an opinion that some may think is controversial. I am glad we lost yesterday. It showed straight away what Hughes has to work on, whereas a win would have papered over the proverbial cracks.

I think most think the same. No doubt Sparks was waxing lyrical last week to Hughes. The real talking was done on the pitch yesterday. Hughes knows what he's got to do.

If I was Sparks I would have been honest with him. The squad is garbage, we have injuries galore probably because of our crap training ground, oh and we have absolutely zero confidence.

A man of his standing football wise will have sussed that out by the end of training this week, but lets not forget they are league two players for a reason.

Yes and particularly poor league two players at that.
