To be fair to Sparks, when he took the post over, he gave Stuart a fresh contract extension. A lot on here have a sentimental attachment to Stuart, and for me he is my all time favourite City player. Despite that boost, McCall couldn’t turn it round.

Sparks then sacked Stuart several weeks later. Again many felt that it was the right thing to do.
Rather than appoint a permanent replacement, Sparks promoted Trueman & Sellars again this was viewed as a pragmatic move and many were in favour. The initial good start wasn’t sustained and City (Sparks), lined up a ‘proven’ manager at this level.

Again Adams was a very popular choice. Ask @Storck@Storck he has the full list of over 100 who voted in favour of Adams.

Adams was given support in recruiting his players. I am not aware that Sparks has brought in players against the wishes of Adams, possibly Hendrie right at the end, was not an Adams signing, but that is a hunch. Adams was instrumental in the removal of Turnbull and replaced him with his Scouts. Again as far as I am aware, Sparks seems to have been guided by the person ‘who knew football’, in this instant Adams.

Sparks has been instrumental in the sacking of Adams, despite Derek’s bluster on the radio.
Having removed Adams, much to my surprise, he has got Hughes in as manager. Again the mood is positive in most posts. Yes there is some balance, looking at previous high profile appointments, which have not ended up with glowing success. However I guess most of us will support Hughes (what is the alternative other than ‘packing it all in’), again I am pragmatic and realise he has been dealt with the cards he has got, so think we cannot really judge his progress until the end of November at the very earliest.

I struggle to point any objective criticism on Sparks. I think he has on the whole acted in a reasonable manner. It was Adams who was the ‘expert’ and signed the vast majority of these players, set up the formation, ran the training and ultimately served up a dour, miserable and failing product.

If the timing had been worse this is a relegation side nailed on. With all the Hughes fan fare and that it seems to have escaped people that this club has and is still run by sheer incompetents. Was anyone really surprised by todays result? A complete waste of a season and an insult to the thousands of loyal city fans who turn up week on week. Hughes really has hiw work cut out taking this poisoned chalice on.

That was Gillieads best performance since coming back. Hendrie was steady but after that most players were just their usual self. Foulds had a torrid first half and the two centre backs are average at best. It's gonna take Hughes well I to his contract to turn this club around.

Daly has been such a disappointment, have to be honest I thought he would add to our midfield but very underwhelming

No. But only coz I'm working. Otherwise I'd be going. I take my mum who's in her late 70s, she's just been diagnosed with alzheimers so I'm attending every game i can while we still can, its such a shame that the last games she'll remember are so dire!

It will take Hughes a game or two to realise why Bass goes long like he does. That defence can't pass out from the back. An example being when Paudie cut inside their defender on the half way line in the second half but then lost control of the ball with no one near him and gave away cheap possession. Songo'o is even worse, just smashing the ball anywhere. The defence is Hughes first priority in the summer starting with those two centre backs.

Well there should be plenty blue and yellow there tomorrow. That said, there’s a sizable Ukrainian descended population in Bradford, would be nice to see some support as suggested above.

Amid all the hype of a new manager we mustn't lose sight of the absolute shambles this season has been, and the people responsible. We can now only hope we can cobble a few points together to stay up.

I noticed Hughes wasn’t happy with Bass kicking long all the time. I hope that’s a sign of things to come.

Cheapskates. Thats not how its done. What you should be doing is signing loanees who never feature and 2 or 3 journeymen strikers and paying for the lot. Preferably by selling your one half decent Centre Back in the last couple of hours of the transfer window to fund it.

    Amateurs.

Evans has to start for me next week.

I know he has been underwhelming for us this season, I don't think the previous history with Adams helped to be honest.

When he came on yesterday he was calm in possession and was streets ahead of Sutton and Watt with his passing.

Evans and Cooke to start next week for me, and Lavery for Robinson if Walker not available.

I suspect ROD will be back too

To me it depends what messages we are given from the club. If it’s a back Hughes with what he wants behind the scenes and a chance to redevelop the clubs infrastructure footballing wise I’d be willing to be patient.

However if he’s come in with the sole task of promotion at all costs and sod the club as a whole, like adams then defeats will start to see me and I imagine the fans turn their backs again. And rightly so. We must get promotion as soon as possible as a club but if we are ripping it apart and starting again with Hughes knowledge then we would need to be a little more patient than normal?

The proof once again will be in the pudding. If we Hughes is made to work with Kiwomya and Trueman and Adams UK scouting network then we know nothings changed. however if he brings in his own coaches and back room team then we know Sparks is sticking to his word.
right now we can only go off of the press release that says hr will be backed in that respect. It’s all hot air so far from Sparks so I’m a wait and see type of mood currently.
I certainly won’t back us to win Saturday. Our squads crap and Hughes has one day with them tomorrow, I think we will likely get beat.
But if we have a coaching team in places over the next few weeks and can see a new style of play and better results before the season end then we can look forward again

I hope the fans turn up in numbers on saturday. Im the last person who is willing to give Sparks an Co a free pass (well actually that would probably go to Fordy) but at least its a step in a very good direction. An experienced manager who lets be honest, nobody could of expected to join a league two team, let alone us.

Lets get behind the manager, show Hughes the potential this club can achieve if handled correctly. And I sincerely hope that Sparks has learnt his lesson here. Give the man what he wants. If he wants to bring in new coaches for everything, do it. If he wants to restructure the training setup, let him do it. If he wants to shape up the recruitment structure of the club, let him do it. He deserves the chance to show what he can do

This is the worst side we've ever assembled. Lets hope we have enough about us to stay up.

Massive rebuild needed in the summer. Will we fund it?

    Probably not.

Did anyone expect anything other than a defeat? Knew and said yesterday we would lose.
Hughes has had one day with them
    Will take time

Don't see Rupp as the main problem though. He's agreed a deal to back MH with backing for what it takes to move everything forward. For now it's all about the new gaffer and giving him a great VP welcome on Saturday. No one can be sure how things will work out, but for now it offers hope and a change of approach football wise..much needed imo.
