    Disagree. It’s a response to the journalist. They could’ve said nothing, or, issued a simple tweet to supporters along the lines of

    ‘The club would like to reassure supporters that the story in the daily mail is entirely baseless and we continue to search for a suitable head coach candidate in a manner and timeline that we’re firmly in control of’

    Sadly, I don’t think it is baseless. I think it’s bang on the money and is likely coloured by someone very closely involved at the club.

    Hmmmm... Going to be pedantic here but they did exactly what you said. They didn't respond to the journalist they sent out a tweet from their account. They didn't reply to the article/tweet.

    Again, the thing about comms is, whilst your example above was nicely written, it was your view and others would say it was too bland and lacked the feeling of pace.

    I agree, the tone of tweet was all wrong, how come several supporters know how to respond to the press, and Edin doesn’t.

    Sorry B.B. totally disagree, you do not under any circumstances get involved in trying to reply to a journalist who is accusing you. You calmly reply back and keep the emotions out of it, then it will normally just fade away.
