I was about to post similar. And let's face it - Neither Greg nor Stuart could ever convince Edin to go for 'category A', then 'B' was overlooked, so we ended up with 'C'. Also - Regarding January - we reacted at the time when most shoppers had completed their New Year shopping ......... an' hit the trail (realistically) during the last few days, like the freaks who stalk the chiller isles in super markets at 7.40 PM looking for 'final reduction' items ! :(

I've just written in another thread that Shrewsbury had to pay a 'considerable fee' for what they saw as the right manager in Paul Hurst from Grimsby. I'd say they were bang on with their investment.

I must be in the minority then when looking at his record since he came back the second time. Look at this way, Rahic felt him and Rupp had to make the call, they did. Turns out it didn't matter. The new guy tells him the squad isn't good enough, but nowt like stating the blindingly obvious. Rahic in the bantams banter video bangs on about being together as a tight unit. He says he has learned from mistakes made. Well lets hope he has learned those two mistakes. One, give the manager a squad fit for purpose and two, good man management from the top of a business down will get you the best results.

This is your fall back position, and to be honest it is insulting to the posters on here. I have never referred to Stuart as a club legend and I never would either. He was and still is a good manager and on occasions a very good manager. You are saying exactly what Edin is saying without any substantive evidence. No manager is perfect, everyone needs to understand that, even when Edin chooses his next manager, he will not be perfect, there will be things about him he doesn’t like, let’s hope he can keep his emotions in check before leaping for the exit button.

Let’s hope at some point Edin stick to the principles they came with, not to sack managers at the first obstacle they come across

You didn't post it but you said you had heard the same so can you comment where you heard it instead of blithely adding to the negative message without adding any substance?

@Bronco@Bronco as someone who literally replies to every post on here you actually should have a greater sense of responsibility. When you post one negative message after another it really does affect a thread. This is what I was alluding to earlier. You have been negative for some time and I get it. You don't like the owners, that's OK, that's your opinion but when it's post after post of you looking at things from a negative angle it gets a bit tedious.

Kind of highlights my point, we've had success since 2012 and the club has been great to be involved with. Only this last season has the momentum gone and it's like we are in free fall i.e Sunderland the way people are carrying on.. Not renewing etc it's absolutely rife.

Wait and see what happens, but don't go all out guns blazing for the club after 1 season of stalling. Sort of antics of a Leeds fan.

I’ve just said to Bronco this won’t happen, Drury in all likelyhood will be in contention for the U18s job. I think McCann looks the most likely candidiate.

This is the problem right there. Have they ever said the players had to be u18 or even u21? They said they wanted to sign and improve players that would sell for a profit. If we sell Wyke this summer, we would expect a significant profit. That’s their vision and always has been.

The issue is that some of the other signings have not worked the same way. We paid fees for Poleon, Reeves and McCartan and were hoping to improve them and sell them on. None are youth players, but had we improved, there would have been a chance of making money back on them.

The idea isn’t the problem, the signings are.

Both Jewell & Adkins got a chance as a caretaker Manager first.

Our appointment needs to be long term, with confidence and definitely not a gamble.

You cannot reasonly compare those two to Drury.
Drury was god awful at BPA and then got our U18s relegated. Adkins and Jewell were at least around the first team squad throughout their coaching careers and then had spells as caretaker first.

You, @Park bantam@Park bantam and anyone else trying to find any positives in this whatsoever are beyond deluded.

We need to nip this in the bud about us using Huddersfield as some sort of yard stick as to how we are going to progress in the future. We are nothing like them either in terms of first team backing or infrastructure. They have a chairman who has pumped 10s of millions into the club, this of his own choice primarily because he is a huge supporter of the club. If we are going to liken oursleves to a rival club and its strategy then we are a cut price Peterborough.

Absolutely right. Somebody else (I forget who exactly) said something similar to Park only recently conveniently forgetting that at the last count Hoyle had put £52m into subsidising Town's playing budget over the years (despite the millions they'd earned from developing and then selling players) and that he'd also funded investment in paying millions in transfer fees for younger players to go through their development programme. That was Hoyle doing what he wanted to do. No coercion; no false promises; no weasly words but just action on his part.

We can only wish for how Hoyle subsidised Town in the year they won promotion to the Championship. According to Hoyle, that season, Town's playing budget was 20% higher than the 2nd highest and 50% higher than the 3rd highest! And that's well-run, frugal, self-sufficient Huddersfield Town. We can but believe dream of anything similar!

I doubt Rahic would want Warburton bringing in his own Head of Football who he takes to each club with him.
I would love to see the owners go all out to bring them in though.

I think the Warburton talk is another Keiffer Moore situation, never gonna happen but it looks good to have top names knocking about, McCann is a more realistic target imo.
