Are you assuming because he's out on loan he's no good, or Bowyer doesn't rate him?

Think it's more the fact that from day one Hornby said he wanted to play, but with ROD in strong form, that wasn't going to happen barring injury.

By the time he'd gone on an extended loan, so he could get game time, we could no longer recall him once ROD got injured.

Put it this way, as long as we're saving his wage then I've a lot more respect for Hornby insisting he plays football than some keepers happy to sit on the bench or in the stand.

Why can't we recall him? Do you know that as fact? It's actually a lot more likely we do have a recall clause and have chosen not to exercise it.

Outstanding shot stopper. Doesn't really command his area particularly well and that's the reason we ended up signing Craig McGillivray last season who has been really good. McGee made a couple of errors just before we signed him which didn't help, but I'd say he could be a really good signing in Lge 2
only reason we're letting him go is we have a really good young keeper in Alex Bass, and McGee's contract is up in the summer so will need the chance to earn himself a deal somewhere

 

Doubt we will. He's probably only here to cover while ROD is out so I don't think we'll send a season long loan back if he's only here for month.

You can only pop a recall clause in a season long loan.

Even then you can only recall at a specific point.

There is no chance of recalling him.

 

If that's was case we would of signed him on a month loan. He's here until the end of the season meaning we currently have 6 loan players. Only 5 allowed in match day squad.

 

Why would we want to recall him anyway based on some dodgy displays when he has played!

i think he would have been out on loan if it wasn't for the budget. Felt at the time that there probably wasn't a massive difference between to 2 so by sending Hornby out on loan it saves more money than it would with GSK. Also as i think one of the reasons he didn't stay at Guiseley is that they wanted a guaranteed player that is very unlikely to be recalled and they probably knew and injury to O'Donnell or Horby would have meant he was recalled then they are in a bit of a mess.
Will be interesting what happens when O'Donnell is back fit, if McGee has some good games do we drop him straight away and if we do then do we put him on the bench and then have to keep one of the outfield loan players out of the squad as well as putting Devine on the bench to meet the club grown rule or do we drop him out of the 18 totally so the other 5 loan players can get in the squad.

I think the number of loan players we have will have dropped by the time the window closes, either through one or more returning to their parent club or through us making them our player/s.

 

Think Cooke will be made permanent

 

Think it will depend on whether he feels he is going to get the chance to play more as an attacking mid. If not, he might want to wait until the summer to find a club where he will get that opportunity.
