I'm still owed my 20 then for playing for Bradford Boys vs. Sheffield Boys (Inc Wayne Jacobs) in an U15s English Trophy game.....

....and don't get me started on the number of reserve games when my brother was on YTS I must be missing....

if you go to enough games then 20 points is nothing
Mention it when the fan survey in out in the next couple of weeks if it means that much to you. If you go to lots of away games then you shouldn't have to worry about fans getting them for home matches. You've had the same chance as everyone else to buy a ticket for this match so if you don't buy it and it costs you the chance of a ticket you've only got yourself to blame.

That's an interesting point are they part and parcel of Bradford City FC, and if so do the club finance the women's game at the expense of the mens game, I wouldn't think the finance is a major out lay but any money going into women's game at the expense of the mens game is wrong, are they included on the clubs accounts ?.

I think the Women's side sits under the Development thing that Ormondroyd runs -

Following announcement that long serving Chairwoman Sally Thackray would step down, discussion began with a number of parties over the future running of the club. It was announced on 17 December 2020 that the club would move under the stewardship of Bradford City Football in the Community. This would mark the first time in the clubs history that it stood as a part of the 'men's' club at Bradford City AFC. As well as this, the club announced a restructure of its previous committee model, to one that fits into the new system, with Qasim Akhtar announced as the clubs first General Manager, overseeing the day-to-day running of the club

They're at a low level. Presume it's fundraising. I can't imagine they are paying players.

Always seem to be fighting relegation.

The reason I ask was I though football in the community was government funded so maybe women's football at our level would have been the same rather than the big hitters like Chelsea/Man City women's teams who as you say will be salaried by their clubs ?.

They are an amateur team so they'll pay subs to play then the rest of the money is made from sponsorship, fundraising and other commercial revenue like tickets.

You have obviously missed my earlier post and waded in half way through. I have a feeling you know you would feel the same if you were in this position but don't want to admit it. So to reiterate, my and my lad have been to the same number of games (every home game and 3/4 of away games, most long haul btw) but I have ended up with 60 more points than him. When looking through the purchase history, 3 of the home games haven't been allocated either due to the system malfunctioning or inept turnstile operators. So when I came to buy the Northampton tickets, I had to wait until the second bracket before I could get one for my lad. Thankfully I bagged the tickets, but many others weren't so fortunate, and I am certain a lot would have missed out for the exact same reason as my lad almost did. I think @Gardscoigne@Gardscoigne had a very similar experience with his daughter if I recall correctly

So my point is, for the sake of making a couple of quid selling pointless memberships for loyalty points, or giving them to people who attend womens games (which the majority of our fans have no interest in whatsoever) all the club are going to do is piss off those who put in the hard miles. Nothing is cheap in the current climate so most are feeling the pinch, and will ultimately vote with their feet

I will repeat what I have said before - the loyalty system has (on the whole) worked for me personally this season, so I would only urge those in charge to carry out minor tweaks and only allocate points for the tickets for the mens first team games, and scrap these other ways to accrue points

With regards to the survey, i'll certainly be giving my opinion, however knowing Ryan Sparks and his past demeanour, I know for a fact it will be not be addressed as he doesn't like to face criticism

Correct - we’ve missed only the Carlisle game at home (in addition to attending the away games, the Mickey Mouse cup matches, pre season friendlies), and daughter and youngest son (as well as me) are missing points which made it a bit of a scramble for Northampton.
None of us have points for Grimsby at home (one example) despite me having proof of spending in the tea bar and £120 on shirts in the shop just before kick off.
They need to get the core system working, then allocate points when they rightly should be given
FWIW, there is debate whether you should get points for home matches, but surely none whatsoever when it comes to Bradford City women’s team.
They’re a different team to Bradford City, have nothing to do with us, I wouldn’t want my money supporting them (albeit I wish them luck in being independently successful) and absolutely don’t want other fans to get loyalty points giving them an advantage over me or others when it comes to Bradford City.

I like the idea of a loyalty system but let’s be honest the club have used it to generate interest in other things that fans just aren’t bothered about, for me you should only gain the points through actually attending away games as that’s the only reward of the points.

I got points for Derby in pre season and the league cup and FA cup game. This falls into the same category, it’s totally irrelevant to what the points are used for so it simply shouldn’t happen.

I’m all for growing the women’s game and it’s great they’re finally having a game at VP, but it should be grown as it’s own product not piggy backing off what is essentially a difficult game.

The points being accrued at home games is out of order, you've paid for your 23 homes games by purchasing a season ticket there shouldn't have to be scanned, as Steve says the away side of the loyalty scheme has worked well, this situation needs sorting Mr Sparks, your home support shouldn't be penalised for missing a home game due to the scanners not working or the system failing or for whatever reason working, holidays or illness !!!.

For those including myself who purchased a membership this season I can't see the uptake being anywhere near the same next season if we're in league one most grounds will be able to accommodate our traveling hoards, no doubt as you say they will find other ways of generating money with regards loyalty points.

Had a quick look at the current League 1 ‘away’ supporters capacity. https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/league-one.html

I think you may well be a little optimistic Dave!

Accrington; 2300 (likely to be relegated)
    Barnsley: 4700
Bolton: 3000 (can be increased to 5000)
    Bristol Rovers: 1100
    Burton: 1400
Cambridge: 1600 (can be increased to 2600)
    Charlton: 3000
    Cheltenham: 1100
    Derby: 2700
    Exeter: 1300
    Fleetwood: 1131
    Forest Green: 1200 (plus a sheep pen)[Relegated]
    Ipswich: 1900
    Lincoln: 1000+
Milton Keynes: 3000 (plus extra capacity)
Morecambe: 1700 (likely to be relegated)
    Oxford: 5000
    Peterborough: 1800
    Plymouth: 2022
    Port Vale: 4500
    Sheffield Wednesday: 8000
    Shrewsbury: 1796
    Wycombe: 2,350

I would say that Derby, Burton, Fleetwood, Lincoln, Peterborough and Shrewsbury may well struggle if the team is doing well, as supporters travel well up to around 100 miles of VP. If they stay up Morecambe and Accrington also have small capacity for away supporters. Most of the teams likely to go up also have small capacity. Finally others some distance away (but if it is a crucial match) like Exeter, Bristol, Cheltenham and Wycombe are also relatively small.

If points don't expire like they seem to have insinuated then people may buy memberships as a longer term investment rather than just for next year.

Have you asked the club about the missing points? Would suggest it is better having the argument now rather than waiting for the next big game where you could miss out because of it

The only reason I bought two for me and the grandson was for the loyalty points I certainly wont be buying one if we get promoted.
