i only used bolton as the example as that's darby's other professional club of late. it could have easily as been rochdale mentioned.. my point being, that many will claim to be going as it's a charity fixture for MND but the reality is it's because it's liverpool.

Looks like tickets are sold out in the Liverpool end so well on our way to a sell out or at least very close.

JCT600 stand sold out and only 12 suite seats left in the lower kop. TL Dallas seats seem to be selling well with 3 blocks down to limited and down to good, only LF as very good but that only holds 50.
Can't imagine there will be much more than 1,500 tickets left if that

It really does depend on the safety certificate for Block A - Main stand.

If we’re able to acquire one, sellable capacity is circa 24,350. If we don’t release block A seats, then sellable capacity 23,910.

 

Should be an amazing sight.

What's your point.

They don't put Children in Need on the TV and use people you've never heard of to try to raise money, do they?

People give more for good causes at a particular event or on a particular occasion if there's something to really concentrate people's focus on that event or occasion.

Naturally all these people going to the game could donate to the MND at any given time, for no reason whatsoever, but you don't raise large amounts at a single given time without a bit of a showcase.

Are you absolutely brand new to the concept of charity in a capitalist society or something?

 

Yep, and it really shouldn't need pointing out.

Why people are making this a question of WHY people are attracted to the game really is missing the point entirely.

"Are you going to watch Bradford or Liverpool?" - totally irrelevant.

"Do you really care about the charity or do you just want to attend the spectacle? - wholly nonsensical and utterly redundant.

The aim is to raise money for a charity.

The game should be judged on that point ALONE, because at no point has anybody claimed the game is a popularity contest between two clubs, or that it must be attended by hardcore charity donators only.

Yes, there's a reason we aren't playing Bolton or Rochdale - because they wouldn't raise as much money for charity.

End of - and I feel justified using 'end of', because it is the ENTIRE point.

 

I don’t think many people attending will be expecting full Liverpool side. I am sure it will be a decent representation. I for one am looking forward to it A great cause and much better than the usual pre season fare.

 

One of the best comments in this thread was from someone saying they didn’t want to attend because they didn’t want to see a red shirt in the home end. Really? WTAF...!

Perhaps if the folk moaning actually bought a ticket instead of thinking what if, we may have sold out our allocation with ‘home’ fans, leaving little or no room for ‘reds’.

Can’t get my head around the fact some are moaning that the whole concept of raising money is going to be a success....!
