Listening to City matches

My Skoda gets DAB but I'm buggered if I could find it.

 

That’s what happens sadly, when a huge City like Bradford no longer has a commercial radio station?

 

But we're being told that there is coverage of City games on BBC Leeds, yet it was nowhere to be found after the game. When I tuned to what we'd been told was the frequency it was a country music programme.
Are we being given the scraps of a game commentary, but no pre or post match discussion, like on iFollow?

 

I have found the Radio Leeds Bradford on my DAB. I found it by looking down the list of stations and found Radio Leeds was listed twice and I selected them both and found one of them was the Bradford station and was able to listen to the after match comments on the way home on Saturday. Good luck.

I think it depends on your DAB radio to be honest. Can get in my car radio on the drive but not on my radio in the house, 10 metres away.

 

my car and 10 year old Ruark dab radio at home pick city radio Leeds commentary up fine from outside Bradford area.

On the station display It says radio Leeds and then states Bradford&Huddersfield. Or the car have a station section list for Bradford and Hudd region where I then chose radio Leeds (the right version) , pulse, etc. Bingo.

I think you do need to have DAB+ as someone else said, but most people must do if my 10 year old radio does

 

Managed to find the City coverage on Radio Leeds whilst in Bradford Saturday. However after passing the airport on the way home the reception was patchy to say the least. By the time I got to Wetherby it was non existent . I ended up listening to Huddersfield discussion on FM which was clear. We seem to have come off worse following the Radio Leeds reshuffle.

 

I’m about 30 mins drive to Bfd city centre and I can get every game commentary from home now if I’ve understood it right, so it’s a thumbs up for me but I guess if further afield now they’ve stopped MW and aren’t putting us on FM if fixtures with Town/Leeds clash, it might not be better for everyone.

 

I found the station that said Bradford & Huddersfield but it was playing country music. That's what made me wonder whether we only get the game commentary and not the post match discussion.
Maybe it is to do with DAB+ and perhaps my Skoda Octavia, a 2013 model, doesn't have that.

 

Does your dab station list in the car break the station lists down into sections, DAB National and then a list, DAB Leeds and a list, DAB Bradford and Huddersfield and a list of stations?. What i understand is you wont be able to stream games online /internet radio but radio leeds dab coverage is dedicated to Bradford on at least one DAB channel out of the two if Bradford are playing. Maybe the transmitter was playing up, not sure tbh country music seems an odd one for a saturday!

And interestingly i dont think any of those class as DAB+ just standard DAB channels just noticed a dab + on the gold channel but the + isnt on the bbc ones above

 

For those struggling in their cars.Do you have 2 Radio Leeds stations on your DAB menu.
My car has 2 but it doesn’t state which is which.
I just waited until 2 o’clock and heard the dulcet tones of AK spouting nonsense
.After the match it stayed on the post match stuff right until I reached home.

 

Your dashboard needs a clean. Ever though of giving @Fordy117 a call ? Sure he has a midget for that.
