Listening to City matches

It was my car radio but its only a 63 plate so probably not?

 

I had to go to Bradford on Saturday got the match on radio Leeds DAB then as I drove under the runway at LBA it knocked off for a minute and came back on with an Huddersfield town commentary.
I used to be able to pick up post match coverage to the other side of York

 

You drove from Filey to Bradford to listen to the match, wow Park, that's dedication!

 

According to the City Website in April:

"DAB frequencies to be split so all City games will be carried live on Bradford DAB service - which can be carried across the district

- When only the Bantams are playing, commentary will be carried across all frequencies

- When Leeds United clash with Bradford City, Leeds will retain FM coverage and City coverage will continue as above.

BBC Radio Leeds managing editor, Sanjiv Buttoo, said: “The DAB distribution maps show the Bradford DAB frequency covers the whole of the district.

“These changes aim to ensure listeners will receive considerably better coverage of all games, from this point forward.”

So I looked it up - The DAB tuning for Radio Leeds - Leeds is 12D (on your DAB radio dial) and and Leeds - Bradford/ Huddersfield is 11B.

All well and good and ensured better coverage- errrr, no. No coverage at all on 11B, .......................................................here in Greengates!

 

Haha there is a limit

 

You need to move up the road to Idle mate. I had perfect reception on Saturday.

 

Greengates is a black hole.

 

Now then I used to go to school there!

 

For radio that is!

 

What are Radio Leeds doing ? On Saturday only Huddersfield and City were playing , so why didn’t they put one on FM and the other on DAB. What is the point of having Huddersfield on both FM and DAB !! Couldn’t find City on any DAB frequency.

 

Retune to Radio Leeds second DBA frequency and you will find the City match, though I agree, why have the dogs on both ?

 

The answer is easy, Radio Leeds are Sheite and have little to no interest in Bradford

 

Last time I was there - drinking in the Albion post match - there were more Leeds shirts than City shirts around the bar. Perhaps that's the reason.

I played for Croft juniors, we left Stansfield Rovers as they didnt see me as a goalie, our manager did so we played opposite crofts on them pitches, around 1980 buddy

 

Know the place , and Dudley Hill, backwards before it was abandoned by Renold who stole the pick of the products and expertise to keep a Lancashire factory open. The two Bradford plants employed 3,000 when I started.
