I was a little disappointed with the some of Spanish players attitude both on and off the field, one eventually getting a yellow for her antics on the touch line.
Every time an England player went down they stood over them as if to challenge the referees decision, up to last nights game the way the players had handled themselves was a breath of fresh air.

 

Again I agree, but I preferred last night. More of an edge to it!

 

The Germany/Austria match last night was fantastic. The first half was good but the second half was great fun to watch with 2 teams absolutely going hell for leather right up until Germany sealed it with that 2nd goal at the death.

 

and? This is an England side competing against their peers. It doesn't lessen your masculinity in any way supporting the side. Of course the standard of football isn't as good. Women were literally banned from playing football for most of the last century.

 

Absolute b*llocks. It's an International side playing in a football tournament. The fact 9m watched it, shows that there is an audience.

For England games.........the other games played at Rotherham and Man Citys academy ground. TV audiences will be in the thousands.

 

Well yes, that is true. They are nowhere near men's standards. It's the same reason why transgender athletes shouldn't compete against women as there is a massive difference in performance in a sport where physicality is a big thing

 

The gap will get closer with time. The professional game is still in its infancy and the talent pool is still quite small but increased visibility will lead to more money and greater participation.

 

Massively. So many girls are playing this at my son's junior school etc. The boys don't bat an eyelid. The real key is continuation through secondary school. Women's football was literally banned for 50 years. When mums and peers play it exponentially increases in participation and ability
