Cracking entertainment, better than a lot of men’s games Ive seen, a cracking atmosphere being generated by the crowd, great to see families out in force to watch.

    it’s coming home!

Mead had a good game against Austria in the opening game. Her movement for her goal was great and she finished it perfectly against a gk who did everything right.

England’s 5th goal tonight, the way Mead drifted past those players in the box and drilled the low shot in, right up there for any standard of football, reminded me of Robbie Blake!

I still can't get into it.

It kind of reminds me of watching an academy game, like under 16s. It's clear the skill is there, but the power and speed is lacking, it's missing something.

Really? I thought it was a bit of a nonsense.

8 0 is embarrassing to say its the finals of a major tournament. The gap between the top teams and the rest is far too big.

Women's football receives airtime for equality and diversity purposes, not for how good it is. In reality the best women's teams wouldn't be able to compete with Sunday league men. However, anything to blur the gender lines and promote men being feminine and women being masculine is superb in the woke media, so all this is not surprising.

All this attention it's getting is essentially just virtue signalling. It will only go so far under these false pretenses.

Last year Athletico Bilbao, Spanish women's league champions, played their U16s and lost 6-0.

I watched last night's match and there was some good stuff mixed in with some pretty ordinary stuff. I can't imagine watching it regularly and agree it gets more airtime than its level merits.

I used to think a bit like you but thought id give it a go, why not. i think you should take a game in you might be surprised. Pretty sure they could give a few L2 teams a run for their money , having watched L2 on sky it’s absolutely dire quality in the main , to compare to sunday league is wide of the mark.

it was lovely seeing all the families there and the kids smiling and having a good time and chanting, it will take off on the back of this if England win.

I have taken numerous games in as I’m sure many of those whom are of a similar mindset have.

Each to their own, i would never begrudge someone for genuinely enjoying women’s football.

Whilst I’ve nothing against women’s football, it’s the ridiculous over-exposure it gets, not on merit, that irks people the wrong way.

edit - just recalled reading about Gremio 15 year olds beating Brazil’s women’s national team 6-0 last year.

    https://www.sportbible.com/football/news-gremio-mens-under-16s-beat-brazil-womens-national-team-6-0-20210113.amp.html

Salford school kids beating Man Utd women 9-0. https://www.givemesport.com/1361647-salford-city-academy-criticised-for-tweeting-result-of-friendly-v-man-utd-women/amp

@Biker@Biker i don’t think I’m far off the mark at all to be honest. I reckon a Bradford Sunday league men’s team would beat England women.

    "Some good pins on them"?

No offence but I'll probably ignore your opinion on the entertainment value and standard of football if that's a qualifying point.

So do the female commentators in ALL football. I’m not misogynistic by any means but nothing fits. It’s tokenism at its worst in my opinion. If they are good enough then fine, but none are, again imho.
