good luck to the lad hes given his all for us this season shame some of the others in our squad didn't follow his example .

 

Its the lads first season in first team football, he's had a very good season in a piss poor side and you're pulling him on a couple of mistakes. I guess we expect perfection at Valley Parade.

 

Where else would he go. He's their player.

 

That day hasn't cost us the season, what cost us is the players who sacked it off all season. Not LOB who grafted for a full season and quite clearly gave it everything. To even pull it up is very petty...

 

Good luck to the lad. A player that can come out of this season with credit.

 

Performed well in a dire season, no mean feat especially for a player so inexperienced.

He is very young, but playing in probably one of the worst squads we have ever assembled....I will give him a few strops as a learning curve but overall he was a superb player with overall a good attitude mainly, whilst playing in a terrible team.

 

Can see him going to a league 1 club on loan again. Good player but not championship level yet

 

I think you're in Cuckoo land. Doyle etc are criticised for their performances and effort throughout the season, we saw it every week consistently from the same players that obviously didn't care enough to at least run - if you are saying Lewis didn't work hard you are wrong and have been watching something different to what I have this season.

There is such a huge difference to the players you mentioned and LOB, you're way wide of the mark and your comments are unfair.

 

Well its pretty obvious.

Someone posted good luck to the lad he's given his all and is an example to follow, and you've replied saying except in these instances, implying he isn't a good example and didn't give his all.

You obviously thought that wasn't a fair comment, and needed a counter balance based on two instances, suggesting he wasn't worthy of the credit given in the post.

As you can see, that response has been universally regarded as bizarre and unfair.

I shall certainly follow his career with interest from now on. He was one of two real highlights this season, the other being Ball's goal against Shrewsbury. He is blessed with talent, conviction and character. It was a pleasure to meet his parents who we sat behind at the Walsall away game, shame about the result.

 

If the rest had his attitude we would have been nearer the other end of the table. The sort of player we want and need next season

 

I prefer to look at the good progressive things a youth player has achieved in his first season as a first team player rather than look for individual errors here and there. Put it this way, if there had been a player of the year award he would have won it hands down. Not one other player came close to showing that level of consistency. And lets be clear, no one is saying he has been amazing, it would be impossible for any player to have been amazing in that set up.

 

You’re seeing things that aren’t there. No one has said he is free from criticism. Liverpool pulled off one of the best results of all time, but i don’t notice people pulling up Shaqiri for his woeful passing. O’Brien over the course of the season showed a maturity beyond his years which when added to his form ‘over the season’ made him a stand out candidate for the player if the year. Lionel Messi was awful last night, i guess that performance will negate all the wonderful performances that make him a balon dor candidate?

 

O'Brien is more entitled to a 'free ride' than any other player ....... HE stepped up, whilst 'Honest pros' stepped down and back. So yes, the kid had a few bad moments, but he atoned more than enough later, IMO.

 

As a first year pro, then YES ....... WHERE were the 10 'pro' players (on the pitch), to pull him through ? I'll tell you - O'Brien was too pre occupied trying to pull THEM through. Make no mistake, any player that had ANY value in January, is now worth Jack Shit ! The ONLY one I'd pay money for is a young kid called O'Brien. That says it all.
