Forget all this rubbish about technology. It's very expensive and even VAR can be open to interpretation.
We just need Fordy to sit in one of the stands and give the Roman emperor sign for penalties, handballs, sending offs etc.
Each team is allowed just two reviews or appeals per game, as in cricket. Fordy decides on the review of both teams.
Fordy clones will be present at all league 1 games. Sorted.

The FA annual income is around £370million and they cannot afford to introduce VAR?

People need to get this into their heads and stop bashing on about refs.

Bradford City are in the bottom 4 currently because of Bradford City! Simple as that!

one single camera on the 18 yard line would also only show a sagittal view - and you’d need one on each side. you’d also need a second camera behind the goal to show frontal views. so we’ve automatically gone from 2 cameras to 6.

imagine the uproar when the sideline camera shows a player falling under a challenge whilst the behind goal camera shows there was actually a yard between the players.

plus, in the spirit of competition it’d need to be installed in every ground to ensure equality. not sure teams coming up from the conference could afford around £300k for potentially only one season in the FL.

As a general point you are right Fordy, but in an emotive game where key decisions can be determined by human interpretation you can also need a slice of luck and I think the postings saying perhaps we have not had a 50/50 share of it this season have some substance. The key decisions against us at Burton and Wycombe were both pretty blatant, you have posted draws are 'not good enough' as this stage so it is not unreasonable to say if these had gone our way we might just have achieved the wins you are looking for - it can be a very fine line :)

Actually @Fordy117@Fordy117 if what was widely regarded as a definite penalty at Wycombe had been given we wouldn’t have been in the bottom 4

GLT technology is 300k, VAR is considerably more plus potentially 40 games simultaneously means 320 camera crews, 160 VAR, 160 operators etc.

    Didn't they've a penalty claim also?

How do you know we would of gone on to win the match?

I can generally tolerate crap refs, it's when the ration of bad decisions is 10:1 against us that pee's me off !

You are assuming we'd have scored it. And you are assuming Wycombe wouldn't have changed tactics in order to chase the game.

If it had been given which it should have they would have been down to ten men. The odds would have been strongly in our favour

Just to clarify, VAR does NOT make a decision, the referee does.

So lets get this right, the referee makes a decision that then goes to VAR he watches it back and makes the same call ?.

Yes, but he has the benefit of angles and slow-mo's that he doesn't get in real time.

"The video assistant referee team has access to all relevant broadcast cameras and two dedicated offside cameras. The video assistant referee does not take any decisions; he supports the referee in the decision making process and the final decision can only be taken by the referee."
