    All tickets these days are buy on your phone and scan a barcode in. Pay on the day exists, all be it in a slightly different format.

    I wonder if the club are losing money with this ticket only policy and card payments at the catering outlets I know people who don’t use them because of this.

    You can buy online and have your ticket posted to you if you don't trust the QR Code system.

    If the club really want to stop cash turnstiles and pay on the day then imo this is a cost they should absorb themselves.

    Strikes me that there is no need whatsoever for a ‘web fee’, as it is all done by the supporter inputting their details into an electronic form. I am sure that ‘bulk’ posting of tickets could attract a lower cost.
    So yes not sure why the club cannot absorb the cost, or at the least delete the ‘web fee’ element.

    The one benefit of lockdown was it taught me I didn't need cash. Cant remember the last time I used an ATM

    My telephone and Apple Pay is the best thing since sliced bread imho. I can never remember my card pin numbers, so all the phone needs is my ugly mug!

    Cash use is rare to non existent these days for me personally.

    I've got the same kev, took a photo of any loyalty cards and scan them before i use Google pay. Even used it in the cricket club where we go for a drink after playing a bit of rugby.

    Some technology might, but credit and debit cards have been going years now. Both my grandparents are about to turn 80 and we’re stubborn as they come but in the last few years no longer carry cash and use their debit cards for everything and feel safer for it. Having to use card shouldn’t put anyone off, unless there’s a reason for only carrying cash…
