So if that's true and Killa doesn't go out on loan, we could be stuck with a decent player that we are not prepared to play because if we do, he will end up costing us a bit more?

the shoddy treatment of Killa is disgusting. he was our player of the year, and a committed experienced professional.

 

Sad that the club is operating this way;
If Killa is looking better than NKP then he should be in the team,

Or are they going down the route of not playing the best players.

 

When did he get the new contract?

 

I thought he was given an extension in January.

 

If so they must have expected him to hit the 50 before the end of the season

 

I'd much rather keep playing NKP and Chicksen there than give Kilgallon another year on his contact.

I mean, who cares about results when it saves us a few quid.

 

let’s not let last years POTY award cloud judgement - nobody deserved to win that accolade last year and it could quite easily have gone to colin doyle or another. it was like winning ‘clubman of the year’ or ‘most improved’ as a youngster, nobody really wants it and it was a token gesture.

personally, i like killgallon as a player but if we’re looking at playing a back three then he isn’t mobile enough and towards the end of last season he was taking 3, 4 and 5 touches before releasing the ball and he was getting caught out due to his lack of pace.

if we are going to play 3 cb’s then it’s going to end up mcgowan, o’connor and mellor. if it’s a two then mcgowan and o’connor are our two best cb’s.

unfortunately there’s no place for him at the moment and if we want to get a settled side then mcgowan, o’connor and mellor need to play together as much as possible.

 

Rhodes did exactly the same with Andy Tod on 2003. He had played in the Christmas programme and scored the winning goal in a previous game and was mysteriously left out of an FA cup tie with WBA. Turned out one more game triggered a payment to his previous club. So not unknown in the past with City.

 

it was pretty clear on Saturday how much we missed Killa at the back.

although, even if he wasn't one of the better options for the team we still shouldn't be freezing him out like this. he hasn't put a foot wrong in City colours and always stands up to be counted.
it's poor treatment of a good pro who not only is still good enough to be playing, he's dependable and will work his nuts off.

i don't understand why they don't just play him then refuse to honour the new contract or bonus - thats what they normally do.

 

I believe McGowan & O'Connor will be our regular CD pair, but unless Matt has an injury then he should at least have been on the bench last night.

 

social media rumours suggest Edin has told him he has no future at the club and will never play for us again. that if he can find a loan move he can go, other wise he can sit in the stands and wait out his contract.
