The Port Vale fans were saying that his family wanted him to stay there

His dad basically says that in his tweet as well, and says Kian wanted to stay. Not surprising really, the lad is 19 and has been a big hit in his first experience of first team football, and got to score at Wembley. If I was him or his family, I'd have wanted to stay as well. Fair play to them though, they accept that coming to us will be better for his development.

Not sure I am happy about a player coming in when he clearly wanted to be somewhere else. I will of course reserve proper judgement when I see him in action and his attitude. That said, it's up to him to prove himself and perhaps earn a more back to Vale in January. We shall see

Don’t think we can hold it against him Idle….he just scored at Wembley for them didn’t he and so it’s only natural he’d want to stay there. He’ll soon settle in here and any such quotes will get swept under the carpet.

It does sound like we've more or less guaranteed him a starting place though, for Huddersfield to chose to send him to us rather than a league 1 club that were interested in him, which I presume were Port Vale?

Its not a good idea ,guaranteeing a 19 year old rookie a place in the starting line up .

If he really didn't want to come I'm sure he could have said no. Vales his first taste of senior football he's had a great experience with both on the pitch and with the fans so of course he'd have been happy to go back. Doesn't mean he's not happy to be here. If we get going next season there's not many teams in league 1 or 2 that will generate the sort of atmosphere he seems to enjoy.

Every season there's a kid that pops up on loan that tears it up let's get behind the lad (and his family) and give him every chance rather than looking to find a way of knocking him before he's started.

Personally wouldn’t read much into that, seems like a comment to get clicks/likes off people the lad was kissing our badge yesterday. His family would probably say the same to us sjouke do well first half the season and go elsewhere. I know fans want to think players love their clubs but most of it’s just showmanship, if he gets to a league 1 club post January that isn’t Vale he’ll probably celebrate in front of them like if he scores. They loved Alex Jones didn’t stop him celebrating a few weeks later in our shirt.

Exactly, he was loved at Vale who get average gates of five and a half thousand. If he does well here he can multiply that love 3 fold. Won't be long until him and his family are saying Port who?

We're in league two, we shouldn't be any professional footballers first choice, if they have any ambition or appetite they should all want to be somewhere else, they just need to prove that they are good enough while they are with us.

This is the problem with social media family members though.

They've immediately put some people's backs up.

Why comment? Can't they just let their lad play? We don't need to know his every emotion, let's hope this is a rarity rather than a rule. Recycled opinions do not help.

Huddersfield know he will be looked after and improve with us, Sending OBrien here worked well getting a better player back, They will hope the same again
