Not sure whoever comes in can mate but he will give it a go and gain instant respect from the players.

Whilst I have been advocating Hurst and Bowyer, Nolan would be a decent shout actually. As an outsider, he seemed to be harshly sacked by Notts Co, after a slow start to the season following reaching the playoffs. That said, I seem to recall that they looked nailed on for autos before finishing in the play offs after a poor run in?

Still think it will be Bowyer, despite his odds drifting slightly, albeit still odds on

I’m with @Fordy117@Fordy117 on this one. Appointing Bowyer just confirms that we are a club in crisis and happy just to fire fight. He gets a free ticket because we all just accept we are in a bad situation. It just hides a lack of ambition.

Either the takeover will happen or they will go bust.

Thought exactly the same. Didnt he get sacked from Notts County with them near the foot of L2 after hed had a summer of recruiting his own players?

Exactly, he spent a fortune too if I remember rightly. At least Bowyer has a promotion from league 2 under his belt.

Agreed, promotion on a shoestring budget by all accounts. Personally, I think it's too soon to he throwing in the towel on L1. Yeah we're in the brown stuff, but theres 33 points to play for and 6 points. Bowyer strikes me as a manager who'd come in and need time to plan to turn things around, so maybe long term hed be a good shout. Think I'd still prefer a short term appointment till the end of the season with someone who can organise this shower now and give us a fighting chance. They can play, they showed that in December. Guess we'll find out next week

I recall, when the sacking of Kevin Nolan occurred being surprised despite a slow start to the season ( after reachingthe pplay offs the season before) but when reading a statement from the club, I wasn't that surprised.

So with the power of Google and a quick search.......

Owner and chairman Alan Hardy said: “This is a decision we’ve made with the best interests of Notts County at heart.

“While the beginning of our 2018-19 campaign has been bitterly disappointing, the board and I believe results and performances throughout 2018 have not been good enough overall.

“The last eight months have seen us win only eight of our 28 Sky Bet League Two matches, a run which saw us surrender our position in the automatic promotion places before suffering defeat in the play-off semi-finals.

“Our away form has also been a continuing concern, with only two league victories recorded on the road since the turn of the year.

“Ultimately, a continuation of this form would not allow us to meet our targets for the season and, having conceded 16 goals in our last five matches and being without a win in our last 10 competitive games, we feel now is the time to move forward with a new manager at the helm.

“Everybody knows of my desire to restore the fortunes of the world’s oldest Football League club and I have invested substantial monies to strengthen our playing squad in the summer.

“Our supporters have responded magnificently by turning out in their droves but, unfortunately, their efforts have not been backed up by performances on the pitch.

“This club will nevertheless always owe Kevin a huge debt of gratitude for his work in saving us from relegation from the EFL when I first arrived in January 2017.

“It was a truly remarkable turnaround and we wish him and his team every success in the future.”

Moreover, one job at football league level and 'unemployed' for over 6 months. No takers on his previous credentials?

He was offered to go back because Notts knew they made a mistake and he said no.

He was offered the Wimbledon job this season and said no to them.

Bowyer on the other hand gets on offers.

And just for balance, Nolan's view on the situation -

Any of that ring any bells?

Fair enough. But that aside are you genuinely impressed with the stats at league 2 level, from Kevin Nolan whom spent well at a lower level?

Fast forward a few months at bcfc @Fordy117@Fordy117 with those stats and come on, we know you would implode!!!

Fair reply sir. I was basing my basis on stats and I don't doubt they ain't the best.
But you reply fairly. Goalposts being moved ain't fair on the management team and you can tell there was friction within the club, according to Nolan.

Picking on a statement by Nolan:

"What I stressed, in the board room, is that it was going to take time. Nothing snaps into place. If it does, you're very lucky, but he sacked me after four or five games.

Are our fans going to accept this when some incredibly believe we can stay up still?

BTW, I don't have an opinion on whom comes in. I wanted Grayson/Hopkin and that didn't work out too good!

I'm looking at this: The here and now!

Our players need someone who they can look up too and respect. We shouldn't be second from bottom and I believe the players didn't respect Collins, Hopkin or Drury. Nolan is a different kettle of fish. He has recently played PL, knows how to be a leader, can level with players and has a strong network.

A lot of our players are under contract and will be here if we like it our not.

Bowyer just bring grim off the pitch reasons for me. Only really intention because of the shi&e he put up with in Blackpool but as I said yesterday Blackpool had spent a lot of money when they went down and had one of the best forward line ups in Div 2.

Nolan for me is a great shout. It also gets the footballing world off their seats to take notice of Bradford City no matter what and will generate more money from TV and sponsors. Bowyer just brings safe doubt and has me thinking this club is going into admin.
