Look, I hope we will stay up and I want us to stay up(we all do) but after yesterday's and Walsall shambles it's hard to see how at this minute but we've a chance.

Our squad is too unbalanced- Ball, OB and Payne in midfield. Ball should be up top or on the bench.

We need a manager that's can understand our players and get them ticking.

Think it's unfair no matter if it's Nolan, Bowyer, Evans, Kewell or me to expect them to keep us up but let's try.

 

What's the attraction of Nolan? Genuine question.

 

He's apparently had one to one meetings with every single player today as well as arranging a game for tomorrow to have a look at the out of favour players. That's an impressive first day by anyone's standards.

 

The more I think about it Nolan should be given the job!

 

Exactly, he spent a fortune too if I remember rightly. At least Bowyer has a promotion from league 2 under his belt.

Fair reply sir. I was basing my basis on stats and I don't doubt they ain't the best.
But you reply fairly. Goalposts being moved ain't fair on the management team and you can tell there was friction within the club, according to Nolan.

Picking on a statement by Nolan:

Are our fans going to accept this when some incredibly believe we can stay up still?

BTW, I don't have an opinion on whom comes in. I wanted Grayson/Hopkin and that didn't work out too good!

 

Yes absolutely I'm basing it on promotions, because that's exactly what we need in league 2. Why settle for someone like Nolan who's only experienced failure as a manager, when we can go for proven winners? Obviously there's no guarantee it'll pay off, but for me it will give us the best chance.

 

Thought just occurred to me while reading this thread and associated links. Evans might be a good fit at Notts County. Both him and the county chairman like to show their willy's to people.

I did wonder if @YungNath had confused him with Kevin Davies, who was a target man who has dabbled with management.

 

Maybe he knew he only had one game and felt it best to just keep it as it was?

I see no reason why Bowyer is given free reign to make his mind up over the famous 3/4 and I’m sure he will be. Him and Todd can surely judge a player now. If they play and give their all for the remaining games they can do more for me. It’s another fresh start for all, as bad as they may have been in the past.

The bookies are reactive so that means big money as gone on him by someone or people.

Nolan at a guess would of been about 20/1 last week so to be now 7/2 second fav a lot money has gone down on him which makes me think something could be in this.

Bowyer odds are not really moving.

Spare £20- Nolan is the shout at this moment. Please gamble responsibly!

 

I’m with @Fordy117 on this one. Appointing Bowyer just confirms that we are a club in crisis and happy just to fire fight. He gets a free ticket because we all just accept we are in a bad situation. It just hides a lack of ambition.

Agreed, promotion on a shoestring budget by all accounts. Personally, I think it's too soon to he throwing in the towel on L1. Yeah we're in the brown stuff, but theres 33 points to play for and 6 points. Bowyer strikes me as a manager who'd come in and need time to plan to turn things around, so maybe long term hed be a good shout. Think I'd still prefer a short term appointment till the end of the season with someone who can organise this shower now and give us a fighting chance. They can play, they showed that in December. Guess we'll find out next week
