Grimsby fans seem the think Vernam has been made available by Lincoln. If true, I'd have him back without hesitation.

 

I can't see it, that ship has well and truly sailed. Also, with our new shape he definitely wouldn't fit into our system.

 

Close for me Kev. Vernam from the end of last season was almost unstoppable at times, like most wingers suffers from inconsistency. I don't think Vernam is any better than Wright though and we have better needs elsewhere.

But Wright would be a massive loss. You're not only losing his pace and creativity but also his goals. In a team where he is second top scorer and our top scorer is now on the bench, we're staggeringly short of goals again. Big replacement needed.

If he was our player we could feel agrieved but he is Aston Villas. Plymouth can offer him alot more than we can right now. Career and wages.

 

I’m surprised at this comment. Every time I’ve seen Eisa he has impressed me.
He’s direct, not scared to shoot or run at people but also works hard off the ball.
Not saying he’s a natural replacement for Wright, but I’ve liked what I’ve seen far.
Do believe we need another option to replace Wright tho and someone who ideally has that pace and direct style

why would anyone playing in the championship drop to our level .......... I honestly believe the strikers ain’t the problem they will all get goals given the chance .............to me it’s the midfield and it has been for months now ......... we very rarely dominate that section of the pitch they hardly contribute in goal terms as for Chapman how can you have an attacking player who simply cannot shoot ????

Am off down memory lane now, we used to have a Peter Costello(nice goal struck at leeds), just need to find an Abbott and the comedy duo will be up and running again.

Please tell me where we are making transfers with an eye to the future? 7 loan signings none of whom will be here next season. Two players who could come into the category you mention are East and Young but our manager doesn’t rate them. The January window should be like a pit stop in a Grand Prix, a tweak here and there, bringing in a quality player to maybe make the podium, instead it’s wholesale engine change with borrowed parts from better rivals with more in hope than expectation that it will work.

I liked what I saw of the kid Nevers he looked very direct just like Wright.

 

You can pick up a free experienced keeper or a talented loanee at a far cheaper price, than someone on a multi year contract with 6 months league experience. Look at Vigeroux’s career, decent keepers are rarely in demand that’s why clubs like Swindon just loan them as Parkinson used to do. People had a meltdown on Wednesday that Cook was leaving Thursday, people listen to cheap social media rumours to easily these days.
