I thought so jon regards Oldham ;) to be fair my point is more just to do with the club as a whole ever since Edin came in and the downward spiral we’re on . Wether my recent disconnect with the club is to do with the not been able to attend or not am not sure . If we was to cherry pick the good bits from the club that we want to take forward to next season it’s few and far between . I hope some one in valley parade towers has a plan

I understand the sentiment, but actually o could be convinced to keep the majority of playing staff as well as Stuart if we plugged the massive gaps in midfield and up front, as well as reinforcing the defence.

Tweaks, rather than a rebuild for me.

I take your point, but against Barrow, Newport, Lincoln and Harrogate we were poor. The squad is currently an injury or Covid for Donaldson away from Clarke and Samuels being the only fit strikers, there was a centre half at wing back last time out. I think it’s a season where every club will have a bad spell of injuries, illness or suspensions and be down to the youths, I just hope this is our spell now.

Wasn’t me who said the club gave up btw.

No I know it was @Fools Gold@Fools Gold who sits just below me and the grandson in the Sunwin Stand and when we've spoken always spoke positively with regards the club, it's not been great for a while and I do think Covid is having a negative affect on people, certainly an afternoon or evening giving the lads our support has been missed IMO.
I agree with your above even accepting the players out injured may not be the best I do believe they offer more than we have seen from them so far.

I guess like most of you, I can live with us being a bit, well you know s**t! The problem, in my humble opinion is the complete disconnect. I’ve taken a few pelters in the past for defending Julian, he’s genuinely got the club at heart, but.........he’s got the public persona of a dead seagull, Mark Lawn gave us the human touch, our current owner would wince, the club was as leaky as a sieve, which meant that I felt as I knew what was going on, felt connected! Going into a cup match knowing ML was pissed at Parky for overspending & would have to off load players if we lost not only added spice to the match but made me buy into the chairman’s vision & feel involved somehow! The love is fading, not because we’re a bit crap (well it doesn’t help!) but because it feels like i’m a customer of a limited company not a valued part of the City community. Honestly being on here feels more like being a part of something than tuning into I-follow on Match day and reading the same regurgitated crap in the T&A every week.

Looking at transfer market there are loads of players still available.
Personally I’d like us to try for Sam Johnson. No link what so ever but he’s a good age and good scoring record in the states and Sweden

Unless its needed to stave off real relegation threat, I don't really want us signing anyone in Jan. Certainly not anything other than a short term contract/loan. We need to build from scratch and its pointless tying up funds that will be needed in the summer - especially with the prospect of a new CEO and Manager in the mix.

Agree with you Faithful Bantam . Hopefully we will be seeing a new CEO,my thoughts are that Rupp and Rhodes will be happy just seeing the season out. It would be nice to get rid of some of our dross and bring in a striker.

Didn’t Stuart have chance to get rid of some of our dross and chose to turn offers down and keep him.Baffling decision.

Exactly. Last thing we need is more Novak and Guthrie panic signings being given 18 month deals.

We need a systemic rebuild to get this club going again. We're way beyond sticking plasters.

Cant agree with that @Faithful Bantam@Faithful Bantam, if as we're told there is still money in the player budget surely it would be better possibly spending a large amount/all on one quality player (the likes of a younger Gary Jones) to start rebuilding his team around who will be an asset in either league one or two, then next season Stuart has one of his key players already in the door and a full salary cap/player budget to spend next season.

Problem is January is notorious for panic buys, I agree we do need some quality added to the squad. But if meant waiting till the summer for a chance of a proper clear out and a proper plan then I'd go for that. And let's face it we never do anything proactive in January.

Not for me. We start where its needed. You build a house by laying strong foundations and having a clear plan. Not by buying a flash new kitchen before you've even agreed planning permission. We sign one big player, and in what context? To support who's plan? We're in the midst of a CEO change. We may well have a new manager next season. We have no obvious strategy and our approach to scouting seems limited - and that's being kind. We should add 'big players' ONLY when we have the foundations to increase the changes of that big player being a success. Within a longer term plan that's being led by people charged with delivering that plan. I want us to do things properly for once.

Depends where we are in the league come January, and I’m not talking about a play off tilt. With Scunthorpe reviving I think the league table could look very scary after 2 tricky away games and a tough looking home game against Cheltenham. I agree with a new CEO coming the club needs a rapid reset similar to the Richmond revolution in 1994 but it is imperative we preserve our league status and not signing a half decent striker in January could be disastrous for us.
