    Couldn’t
Couldn’t agree more.Used to love the Saturday routine and the games couldn’t come quick enough.it has definitely felt different and frankly has felt like a bit of a chore for last couple of seasons.Even watching on I follow is hard work and the club will have to work hard to keep the fans who have serious doubts about the clubs aims and ambitions

These next 4 league games will show if any lessons have been learned defensively.2 away games with teams who have a fairly similar record to us and then 2 home games against a couple of top 6 sides.Throw in a home cup tie and we will have a much better view of where we are as a team come mid December.

I'm not sure McCalls breif from above is to not win every game I believe Rhodes said we will try and get out of this league asap but it might not happen this season, I'd say Stuart's brief was to try for a play off place, is this true "when the club gave up so easily this season" we're 11 games into the season a few fans have maybe given up but there are still plenty of points to play for.

The feel good factor has certainly waned dramatically over the last few seasons. I also think the downturn in communication coincided with the departure of James Mason. For all his faults, which reduced as time went along, he kept fans up to date with information, brought new ideas, fan participation schemes and generally helped harness a feel good factor about the club. He understood the need to involve the fans, something Ryan needs to learn and quickly so we don’t lose fans, like yourself, in the future.

With a forward line of Guthrie, Clarke, Clayton and Novak at the start of the season I’m not sure there was any hope of a play off spot to give up on. It’s been said a thousand times, the summer recruitment was not good enough to challenge for the play offs. I’ve seen most of the games this season apart from Mansfield and two of the LDV trophy games and I haven’t seen much yet to change my mind that mid table is a good result for this squad.

Our regular group were having a similar discussion when we met up a few weks ago. One of my friends who is in his late 60s now first went to VP when he was 7 with his father and uncle. He hasn't lived in West Yorkshire since he left for Uni in the early 70s. He's lived in the US, Canada and for most of the past 20 years south of London. Now his family live on the far side of Chester.

In all that time, he has had a season ticket even when it meant he could only see one or two games a season because he felt some loyalty or connection with the club. I say this just to show he is no fine weather fan. But he feels exactly as you do and has used the same word to describe the experience - a chore. Once the Covid issue has been resolved, the club has a major task on its hands to get the fans back into VP. And I hope they have already started to formulate a plan on how they are going to do this. There's a lot more to it than just selling cheap season tickets.

The club needs to work hard to attract the attention and support of local communities in the city of Bradford. It can’t rely on support from the people who have moved up the Aire Valley, to Leeds or moved away or their children.

if we get somewhere like the championship or on another good cup run we can start drawing those people in. just a question of when will we get there.

This is a great point that gets overlooked to easy. In the future what market are the club aiming at for its support. Without those bug numbers the cheap season tickets are pointless, everything is programmed into to pile it high sell it cheap. Personally I do t think we'll ever see the days push 17/18000 again.

Really pains me to describe going to city as a chore.Like most others I have done games home and away from years ago that I can remember every little detail of.Taking same route from parking car in same place every other week then walking to ground.Crossing manningham lane in same place cos we won last week.Could understand non football fans thinking this is quite sad but it’s part of your weekend routine.Definitely hasn’t felt the same recently.

We will never know what would have happened without him, Covid may have done the same anyway, but Edin Rahic ripped the heart out of the club and destroyed the relationship between it and the fans.

Exactly.I live in bailiff bridge near Brighouse but travel to work in Bradford during the week. Not so much Saturday games but midweek games are a bit of a bind going home then a bit of tea and then back to VP.I know it’s not anywhere near as far as some travel and it’s only midweek games but it’s still a factor when the goods on offer are so hit and miss

I live in Brighouse too and work in Bradford as you say the 16 mile round trip sounds nothing but night matches can be a pain especially when you know what's on offer and the traffic is against you (usually is )
A few posters on here have described attending matches a chore I fully agree my Saturday routine for more years than I care to remember has been into town mid morning full breakfast then a couple of pubs before walking to the ground mingling and banter with the away fans
For the past couple of years I have not been alone in staying in the pub and missing the actual game on more than one occasion think the routine is more appealing than the game to be honest
    How times have changed

The problem the club have, with fans watching on ifollow, is that we can do something else while watching, or simply turn off. At least when they had bums on seats, we were effectively trapped for 90 mins! I find myself switching between watching on ifollow, and then having a wander onto Ebay, this forum, checking other scores on the BBC and having one eye on whatever game is on Sky. I can't remember the last time an ifollow match of ours has had my undivided attention.

I've seen all the games this season and there is very little between teams in this division, a play off place is not out of the question so I disagree with the comment "when the club gave up so easily this season" are some suggesting McCall isn't bothered if we win lose or draw when he puts his starting 11 out on a Saturday or midweek I very much doubt it.

@Bronco@Bronco yeah Mike’s summed it up for me there dave . The whole lacklustre summer and then saying a last minute loan youth striker was the final piece of the jigsaw when really it was just a close our eyes and hope for the best signing . Am hoping we somehow manage to turn this season round but I just don’t see anything there for that to happen . Out of a group of around 15 there is only 2 of us who renewed this season and I can see why

Maybe I'm being too optimistic but I don't think the club has thrown the towel in, as I replied to Mick from what I've seen so far this season there are few stand out teams, as poor as we were against Harrogate (yes they looked a good side on the night) they only scored once and are now slipping down the league.
It's not been great but we have only played 11 games less than a quarter of the season, I'm not writing the season off yet.

We beat a non league team as expected , lost to Oldham and drew against Exeter with a average performance . Am I missing something?

I wasn't counting Oldham to be fair, I completely blanked it out apparently :joy:

But wins over Southend, Tonbridge and an entertaining draw with Exeter is a good set of results.
