There can't possibly be other clubs in this league that are a more attractive option to players than Bradford City, it's a khazi league isn't it? That gives us a devine right to get out of it.

A good riposte, but who knows where those players are. Sure, there aren't thousands of suitable players, but there will be hundreds that fit the bill both here and abroad.

If Pritchard is good enough, players like him in non league would be desperate to join us.

This is all about scouting, and giving ourselves an edge that way, as opposed to scrapping over the small number of experienced or proven EFL commodities.

Stuart is happy to coach kids and eager players - but is hamstrung by the narrowness with which we cast our net. All in direct contrast to Parky, who wanted men not boys, and character over talent.

Which way do we want to go?

Parky was was brilliant for us and the right man at the right time but I'm greedy, I want success but I want to be entertained as well. McCall's style of football for me but you're right we need to cast the scouting net wider.
Yes you look at Pritchard and you can see what Bowyer saw in him but it's finding where to get the best out of him and he needs the right players around him.

Think Ismail had the same deal in his favour, they were never going to turn them down but they were odd deals to give a player in his mid 30s and one so injury prone.

Blame Rhodes he would have signed or agreed the contracts.

Bowyer or football managers don't put player contracts together.

The last time I bought a pass was for the Barrow game, if he watches that back there'll be several clues as to why I won't be doing so again this season.

Totally agree with your views Jon scouting is very important. Looking at League 2 leading scorers at the moment.
Cambridge Joe Ironside signed from Macclesfield , Paul Mullin from Tranmere
Carlisle Jon Mellish from Gateshead was on loan at Newcastle Benfield .
Leyton Orient Danny Johnson signed from Dundee.
Three of them on free transfers all mid twenties possibly all good enough for our first eleven.

Its a fair point Rocket but can I suggest you are quoting them because they have started the season well as you say - NONE of these was mentioned in the mass archives of the transfer thread and there will be massive % more players who fall into the same category (free, in 20s) who have made little impact and would be classed as poor signings if City had signed them.
Scouting is a key part of building any team but it is still a massive gamble, particularly at our level - if it was easy you wouldnt see the same teams constantly in the lower leagues

A good scouting system will ignore the cries of good/bad signings at this level. No one's heard of anyone, let's face it, unless we sign a journeyman like Clayton or Novak.

Apparently Anthony O'Connor is the best of the best

The best O'Connor in the league? Fair enough. He's the best O'Connor in our team I suppose.

Young striker worth having a look at - Josh Davison, on loan at Woking from Charlton (deal until early Jan), trust me this boy has something (and Woking will not thank me for this! ;))

Woking Bantam are you our new scout ?
Tell Charlton we will take him on loan until after play off final. Offer Woking Guthrie on a free transfer deal done.
    Good Night

Mate, Woking FC play in the National League Premier.

How is Guthrie going to be good enough?

That's reminiscent of the apocryphal response from John Lennon when asked about Ringo's drumming skills ..

'We all know that Ringo isn't the best drummer in the world. In fact, he's not even the best drummer in the Beatles'

    :)

hahah yes. Or on a more cruder note, it's like when I say that "I've got the biggest dick in my household". I'm pretty sure Oconnor could use that line too.

I really Carnt wait for this season to be over if am honest . Even if crowds were allowed in our attendances would be way down . The constant rubbish were served up week after week ,throw in the odd win against rubbish teams just papers over the cracks . I’ll seriously be considering wether to bother with a season ticket next year when the club gave up so easily this season . It’s all becoming abit of a chore listening to the same poor excuses and signing the same rejects year after year .

Whoever is in charge of the business and football sides of City needs to have a total reset. The club needs to get back to the feel good days of 5-7 years ago or it will eventually wither and die.
