We still on about him that ones gone or never was a left midfielder is what we need now

 

I think that unless anyone leaves we're probably done for this window.

 

Why ?

 

Because we've clearly spent a good chunk of the budget, we're nearing the amount of players over 21 we can have in the squad and the squad as a whole looks reasonably balanced.

 

Trueman did say they were still looking for a left sided player if the right one becomes available

So why are they still working hard to bring more in

 

I can see DMH and French leaving, and a wide player coming in.

TBH though, the fact we have several days left and we're talking about maybe needing to get just the one in, is a fantastic representation of the job that the club's done this window. We've created a platform whereby the summer could and should need just 3 or 4 outs and ins rather than a full rebuild to assemble a promotion capable squad.

 

I’d be looking for a CM before anything else now.

I’m not sure what we do currently if either Watt or Sutton gets injured or suspended.

Completely agree with your analysis. We've done great business in this window already - what a change there! - so we're in the driving seat over the next couple of days with players/agents/clubs who've been holding out til now. Respect to Sparks, Turnbull and T&S for how they've combined in this window.

 

I'd hang on to French. Young player from lower non-league, so he's still learning big time. But he seems to have a real sense of application when he's been called upon. I think T&S can improve him. He's hardly a starter, but given development, could continue to be an important squad player.

One of the things that I am impressed with so far with our business is that we are showing we haven't got time to waste. If you are not good enough or not producing then you are out.

French isn't good enough and we haven't got time to training him up to live in hope.

French has never let the side down when he has played Hosannah is on loan and FCD is 18 so unless they bring in another better right back he should stay

 

He's been overtaken by an 18 year old. Hosannah might come back but if he doesn't then yes French will stay.

However, I don't see how French has a long term future here because we will sign another RB.
