I would agree with this if I thought we were discussing the actions of a rational man.

 

I don't see why not. Rahic held Abbott in very high esteem and labelled him as the best scout in the football league. There's also video evidence of Abbott providing input into transfers with Rahic agreeing with him. If this changed since the footage was filmed then you've got to question why Abbott was happy to stay at the club and do feckawl for 2 years.

 

I don’t believe anything that Rahic said, he was and is completely untrustworthy. Abbott was sick and vulnerable, he may well have felt he owed it to him to continue to work at the club. I doubt he was happy with any of it.

 

Abbott himself said he identified lists of players for ER.

 

I dont get the esteem in which Mason is held to be honest.

He messed up two lots of the most crucial ticket sales we'll probably ever experience by over complicating a simple process.

However anoybost wants to spin it he ligitimised Rahic's regime. He kept the employment when he apparently wasn't being listened to and chose to stick around, keep quiet about the details and pick up the wage.

If people like Mason, Abbott and others had left the club earlier of their own accord and spoken out about specific details rather than leaving it to rumour then we might have got rid of Rahic sooner and this disaster of a season might never have happened.

 

And how would you explain the fact that he was here for the 2017/17 season when his health was intact? Did he sit on his arse for a full year whilst Rahic took full control over recruitment?

The fact remains that 4 people at some point or another were involved in the transfer committee during Rahic's reign. 2 of them (Abbott and McCall) have been shown to have had an input in transfers. The other 2 (Collins and Drury) stated in separate interviews that they were part of a transfer committee and had an input in recruitment. In addition to this, I dont see why Abbott would have wasted his time preparing lists if he knew he was redundant and that his input was worthless.

Everyone knows Rahic was difficult to work with. It's very plausible that he shut down suggestions. Its also plausible that he thought he knew what was best and recruited the majority of this years squad. There's also more than enough to suggest that the others (even if minimal) played a part in building one of the worst squad's we've seen as City fans and should at the very least be held partly accountable.

 

I am amazed that you think anybody had any input of any significance during the last 2 years. We will have to agree to disagree.
