Yes I agree. You should never give up on scoring. We have been short of that school of thought at VP for what seems like years. Those six goals could make a difference at the end of the season. I like Flynn.

 

We have a problem then, because it has been quite plain that our recruitment is well off. All our players apart from Cook and Lewis have to have more than one string to their bow.

 

Flynn was asked what he thought about “Young’s brilliant goals” and he answered “alright” he could be playing it down so nobody comes a calling or ge trying to keep his feet on the floor.

Jake Young conducted himself in a disrespectful and unprofessional way. Having the correct attitude is critical in any form of profession. The club and management must ensure standards are set and maintained. Clearly Jake has not done what is required of him to get back into Hughes' plans.

To be fair to him, Jake backs and believes in himself. Confidence is also key to success. However, striking a balance and understanding how professionals operate is a lesson for him to learn. Sadly it looks as though his bridge is well and truly burned at City, but if he continues to do his talking on the pitch then fair play to him.

If we can benefit from a decent transfer fee should a club higher up come in for him then that's likely the best we can hope for.

 

Great goals and he looks much bigger too. Good luck to him. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors... It will all come out on the wash

 

Attitude right or wrong at least he was simply peed off for not getting games rather than some that seem happy to pick money up without a care

A week is a long time in football.. A few hammerings and Sparkless could be gone. Then its Young back here next summer with 12months contract left, and a fresh start with a fresh manager.

What caught my eye and it is probably just PR but Michael Flynn saying
"They (meaning City) like Jake there, but they just wanted him to play regular football.They felt that he would have an opportunity to do that with us having a small squad."
Hmmm?

 

Afraid I don't know the conversation verbatim, but you will have read and got a feeling for - as I have - the type and tone of comment made and attitude displayed. Now I don't take speculation as fact. However, the clubs actions and treatment of Young entirely align with what those who claim to be ITK about the type of action displayed by Young.

He has clearly done something which contravenes club policy to an extent he has been sidelined from the first team. If he hasn't and you know something, then please do share, I'm interested to learn more.

Every single forum I've been on this season with regards who we've played has used that cliche about round pegs and square holes.

Literally every single one.

I think it might be a fourth tier thing, where you can't just sign the perfect player for every single position, and every team has to make do and mend.

 

Love this bit “And Jake is a player I like. I’ve got a good relationship with Ryan Sparks at Bradford City, and it was us two who connected and got the deal over the line" I smell BS, it wouldn't have been Ryan who gave the deal the nod for him to go, Hughes wanted him out last season.

 

Not reading the whole thread but my recollection of Young is a great goal against Walsall, great game against Sheff We’d in the JPT, on the other hand absolutely gash against Tranmere in the league, and Burton in the JPT.
