Tha is for posting. It’s always good to hear from fans of other teams as to what they think of playerX or playerY.

However, can I point out that we are Bradford City, not Charlton (The Valley?)

You mentioned that he split your fans. In your own opinion, is he good enough for L1 and if so, where would you suggest his best position is.

Think the fans who went to VP tonight saw where his best position is and also saw that he is likely to be our best player.

 

Looked class tonight. Always looking for the ball and GET THIS NICKY LAW, wanted to pass the ball FORWARDS

 

He looks like the pick of the signings. Fair play, taking the edge off my usual pessimism this one. Hopefully he and Miller can do a good job for us on loan.

 

No doubt about it, class player. He moved around that midfield popping up all over the place, and his first thought was to try and get it forward.

 

Is Payne good enough for League One? Oh yes. I would say that Payne,as an individual, is a good enough player to be in the division above.

His best position? Behind the strikers and ahead of the midfield. And there lies the problem. Do you keep a midfield 4 and so have only 1 striker ahead of Payne ...... or do you have a midfield of 3 that gives the team so many options when attacking .......... but not so good when defending.

And that is partly why I came onto your board because I am interested to know if Bradford have a solution. :thumbsup:

 

A 2 1/2 striker: 3 1/2 midfield formation lol I noticed you said he was not good at tracking back which would leave our midfield exposed as you say. In my view you need a strong midfielder right in the middle to do the donkey work. Not entirely sure if we have that, the whole team has been replaced. Although we had a Trialist playing last night no 18 on his back who looked really good,was carrying the ball from back to front, plus putting in some really good tackles, was also not short of pace, so who knows. Pace and solid defending is required to make sure the midfield can stand any maurauding attacks, or on the break attacks.

 

I would think Michael knows better than the Southend supporters for he is probably a better player than the one who played for them.

 

It's ok, Edin knows football so he will tell our IRA Terrorist/ Head Coach what to do.

We've had a few of this type of player in the past, and it's never worked out.

Right the way back to Beni Carbone, the false striker has been a waste of time at VP.

However, new coach, new ideas? No reason to judge a current player on historical data!

 

I agree, if you play behind either one or two strikers, we will be wide open on the counter, if you drop him further back into midfield you lose the attacking capability. However, if he has the engine for it and was able to cover his own back door, he really would be a gem. A player for home I think, but great to watch last night.
