Wasn't Reeves an upgrade though

 

But reeves has always done well in our league so that tells me either he doesn't want to play here or he was injured

 

I like Reeves and hope we give him a chance in what is turning into a competitive looking squad

 

He started off reasonably well, although his general passing play is a bit suspect - then he got injured and played through that injury before admitting defeat and being ruled out for the season.

 

McCartan perhaps. However I'm hopeful Reeves will stay, or else we'll be stuck with 'no depth', again.

 

He's a decent signing.
It's the nature of the football fan, certainly not just exclusive to City fans to get a little carried away by a signing.
All clubs are busy assembling their squads, all fans are getting re-invigorated with optimism
No one is enviously eyeing our squad , apart from the one prize assett, that'll soon be a Black Cat.
Still, be nice to watch a creative midfield player.

 

True, I don't think they are enviously eyeing up our squad but I think yesterday's loan signings plus the addition of some of our other signings definitely shows an intent on how we will try to play this season. Certainly had a fair few positive comments from Huddersfield, Bury and Blackburn fans regarding our recruitment.

 

It will be great to see a genuine creative attacking midfielder, we most certainly haven’t had one of them for a long time.

However, my trepidation and anxiety about our squad is how it is all going to fit together and whether our new coaching team have enough experience to know how to put it together. It is like we have lots of ingredients on the work top, and a vague recipe we really need and experienced cook, as it will require some finesse to pull the promotion dish out of the oven, or even an edible dish ie survival in this league. However, as you know I am nearly always optimistic at the start of the season, but this year I do have anxiety.

I have been looking through recruitment in league one and I haven’t seen many better than ours

 

I'd much rather eat in a restaurant that cooks a meal with fresh ingredients than go to a 2 for 1 where it's a ding beige meal.

 

I agree our last four signings have been very good for this level the akpan and Payne signings are far better than I expected

 

Be interesting to see if Charlie's replacement will be like for like.

Sounds right. Last year showed when Charlie was absent or didn't want to play, we had no plan B.

 

We didn't have the players for a plan B.

 

The signings of akpan and Payne are very good considering most people thought they would both be playing championship football this season. Last year I think midfield was out weakest position, this season it could possibly be our strongest.
Who was the last real attacking midfielder we had who could actually get in the box and get goal? Syers? Really struggling to think of any.
