They have to sell Wyke if he refuses to sign a new contract or risk him leaving for nothing in summer 2019.

Looking at his performances since January I don’t think there would be many offers

Surely that goes against what our present owners are wanting with their model, bringing other teams players in on loan developing them over the season where our own development kids get side tracked, that will be a very interesting situation apart from the facts that we were given at the fans forum that many clubs won't allow their young kids out unless they are (played when fit) and if not the fee is increased by the parent club (don't play City pay) also it's becoming the norm that the club who is taking the young loanes have to pay more towards their wages where as at one time the Premiership/Championship teams were prepared to pay all/most ot the wages to give their youngsters game time in men's football as they call league one standard.

It does but with about 750k less season ticket money on top of loss we would make just keeping last years budget of another 700k they may have no option. They may play younger players on less money Jai Robinson Gibson etc.

To drop £750k season ticket money we would need t drop about 6,000 full paying adults. Can not see that

I think the drop in sales will be across the board. I must admit I was very shocked that we had only sold 10500 by close of business Friday. I knew sales would be well down this year even if we had a good season and missed out I thought sales would be around14/15000. I think sales as they are will be a bit of a disaster. And definitely the end of cheap football.

The only ones who can make a positive contribution to this sorry state of affairs are the board members. Time for them to invest in their investment.

The trouble is they will have to invest heavily just to stand still

Yeah, we touched on this on the old C&B and I take on board what you said then. My point now is only that, we have bought our tickets and our bits of merchandise and we will spend a few quid on match days, but other than that, what else can we do? If they want to see a return on their investment AS OWNERS, then surely they have to spend. Yes there are clubs out there (Shrews) who fly in the face, there is one every season, but for the majority, you invest or risk years of stagnation or worse.

If we're short of cash, it just makes the £200k on McCartan and the £80k on Poleon, look absolutely ridiculous.

Totally. It reinforces the notion that someone in authority at the club is frickin cluless

I wonder if we have actually paid the clubs we bought the players from yet. Edin said you always get money in stages, just a thought

Transfer fees are usually paid over the length of the players contract

A drop of 6000 season ticket sales will likely see revenues drop over £1m when you throw in sponsorships, shirt sales, food, other merchandise, etc. The playing budget would likely drop from 6th or 10th (depending whom you believe) down to nearer 20th. It's bad enough running a typical loss-making football club without picking one that has to pay fixed rent for its ground to someone else that puts us in an even worse position. Next season is going to be tough without directors putting in new money. A relegation battle is likely. Some pointing at Shrewbury as an example of how to do it on the cheap are probably misleading a little when you discover their last results showed their player budget fell from £3.7m to £3.5m and their cash balance fell from £2m to £1m. They had a cup run and transfer windfalls so have also had a lucky spell. They are likely to trim back on the wage budget further and we still won't be anywhere near them without a cash injection.

That's a good read and they would appear to be in a good position all round. Selling land ffs, buying training fascilities, cup runs, increased gates... bastards. o_O

Much of their money comes from the sale of developed players. Exactly the aim here also cup runs including Manchester United. Ring any bells
