    'You're openly Jewish'.

Be openly gay, trans, muslim, but FFS don't be openly Jewish.

    Speaking of which.....

Tommy Robinson wins his appeal against his arrest by the Met Police. Whatever you think of his views or the person himself, what the Met did to him was an absolute disgrace, they literally make it up as they go along. I would say the position of Mark Rowley as head of the Metropolitan police is now untenable and should resign forthwith.

See Labour lost Oldham where the standing councilor said "In some parts of the borough it’s the Gaza issue that may lose them the seat.”
I'm sure Netanyahu won't lose any sleep but maybe we should, religion becoming a part of politics, wake up.

We'd all live in a nicer, friendlier place if those people waving flags/supporting Palestine around here just simply buggered off over there, and waved their flags to their hearts content

This isn't anything to do with Israel or Palestine. It's all about their religion (islam). Their religion comes above and beyond family, friends, livelihood, country they live in, etc.

This is why multiculturalism doesn't work.

There have been atrocities committed by both sides over decades yet the Western Media are consistently portraying Israel as the goodies and Palestine as the baddies. It's not black and white, it's as grey as it comes.

The Beeb jump on whatever narrative gets the most views. Most people in this country, i stress most, would prefer if both sides of the conflict tolerated each other. And when someone mentions 'left wing' or 'right wing' in conversation its a clear marker they have no impartiality whatsoever.

There are no winners in this conflict. Religions, like cultures, don't mix. Was working at a house in the city last year, owner was a deeply religious man. Openly hated the jews and quite happily told me so. And this will happen regular on both sides of the religious divide. My worry is i see generations of young kids being indoctrinated to hate the other side, i happily had no religion in my life due to my dad so never got to be brain washed as a kid to blindly follow some ramblings in a book.

When Iran won't allow the nuclear weapons inspectors to make inspection it doesn't take a fool to reason out why, Trump pull the US financial help for a reason, and Sleepy Joe went back to funding terror, it's only a matter of time with these religious fanatics.
let's hope someone who can be trusted can mediate between the two countries, but when one has proclaimed the State of Israel should be wiped from the face of the earth it won't be easy.

The barbaric assault by Hamas can never be condoned. It should be condemned by everybody but unfortunately it won't be. I have to acknowledge that the issue is a very complex one. Nobody has come up with a solution since Britain took responsibility of the Palestine mandate after WW1 when the Ottoman empire was being taken apart. It took another 30 years for the state of Israel to be established and the outstanding question of the Palestinians was swept under the carpet. The West later failed to intervene after the 6 Day war when Israel invaded Jordan, Egypt and Syria and still illegally occupies the West Bank etc. That situation remains to this day with the obvious parallels with Ukraine. Until sense prevails and that situation can be undone, I don't imagine there will ever be a solution.

Awful to watch/listen to. There's an awful lot of simmering resentment and hate across society. I fear we're on the brink of serious and widespread disorder.

It's a complex, long standing geopolitical quagmire. But the charter of Hamas calls for the obliteration of Israel and the Jews. It appears to me that their motivation of hate and violence outweighs any desire for peace or protection of their own populace. There'll never be peace, and given the history of the Jews I have every understanding that they take literally threats against their existence.

What absolute bollocks you are talking here.

I don’t believe for one minute that you have read the article. You have simply made a knee jerk response because you’ve seen that the article is in The Guardian.

No one could possibly read that article and conclude that the author is “blaming Israel for their own massacre by the Hamas terrorists”.

Does this sound like it’s excusing Hamas?
“It was a rampage of killing, as the men of Hamas tore down the fence that separates Gaza from southern Israel, gunning down the young at a music festival, slaughtering the old at a string of kibbutzim, killing children wherever they could be found. The victims were tortured while alive and mutilated once dead. One journalist, familiar with the most graphic evidence, says the right comparisons are with the massacres staged during the Rwandan genocide of 1994. In the 75-year history of the state of Israel, 7 October 2023 stands as its darkest day.”

If you have actually read that article and still conclude that it is blaming Israel for the massacre then there is something seriously wrong with your comprehension.

If Israel hadn’t been so focused on colonising the West Bank then they wouldn’t have taken their eye off the continuing threat from Hamas in the south. That’s a shocking failure of government. But it doesn’t mean that Israel was to blame for the massacre. Responsibility for the slaughter, rape, torture and abduction of innocent Jewish citizens rests 100% with Hamas.

I absolutely agree with the post but the overriding feeling is that the extreme lefties literally invented playing the race card by labelling any questioning of policy as racism.

They surely can't be too surprised to see it come back and bite them on the arse when wanting to question policy elsewhere.

It feels a bit like "you reap what you sow" even if it's in the best interests of absolutely no one in the long term.

Like you, I don't find it coincidental at all that Hamas commenced their attack on Israel just as Saudi and Israel were on the verge of signing their agreement which among the trade details would also have resulted in Saudi for the first time recognising Israel as a sovereign state. Unfortunately there are other players in the area which wanted to undermine that position. The likes of Iran and Qatar remain opposed to the recognition of Israel and of course provide funding and support to both Hamas and Hezbollah. It will really kick off on a much wider scale if Hezbollah or some other Iran supported militia joins the fray. There are already some reports of Hezbollah having attacked northern Israel from within Lebanon. I doubt that would have been orchestrated without Iran having given the go ahead.

    I don't know, I'm not a politician mate.

I just feel - when I look at these terrorist-celebrating islamist marches in their tens of thousands roaming without resistance in our capital city which is only 36% White British - that something has gone wrong somewhere down the line.

And the kicker is that the left are now even more right then the actual right.

It shouldn't make sense but it absolutely does.
