How Do You Feel About Competing in the Play Offs?

Lewis has actually saved a couple of penalties this season only for a player to score from the rebound, that of course wouldn't count in a penalty shoot out. Without checking, not sure how many he has had to face, I can't recall too many?

 

3 penalty saves in total including the 2 that were scored from the rebound. Also there was Angols effort that hit the bar v Sutton. Pens scored v Grimsby and Stockport. There may be the odd other that I can't recall but overall a pretty good shot stopping record from the spot. I guess the bigger concern would be who we have in our squad that we'd have confidence in to score!
Trying not to think about that scenario anyway until the autos are mathematically out of reach. Win tomorrow and its still on for us.

 

I’m sure all the teams feel similar, it’s who turns up on the day essentially which is why there will always be a luck factor in a one off game. We’re one of the form teams in the division and there is no one team flying up the rails this season from out of nowhere. I don’t know what gives you that impression about Lewis as well, he’s got a decent record of saving penalties, especially considering really the player should really be scoring 90% of the time. I doubt any sets of fans would want to have a penalty shootout at Wembley, your post only takes into account your thoughts and doesn’t recognise that every other team will be feeling the same way with the same nerves and pressures.

 

Sorry, I was referring to “us” as me and my son, not to Bradford City fans. A weekday evening away leg at Carlisle is a logistical problem for me personally due to work commitments etc

 

We had a penalty shootout against Leicester under 23 in the Papa John’s trophy and Lewis didn’t get anywhere near their penalties. We were also very poor at scoring them, our only success being a lucky one from Gilliead and a superb one from Piereira. We really don’t want a penalty shootout as this team are nothing like the 2012/ 2013 squad at penalties.
