How Do You Feel About Competing in the Play Offs?

Bristol Rovers last 10 games last season. They were only in 3rd once.

Loses and draws in the final few games probably made them feel like they had blown it.

 

Maybe they are the same posters on both forums ?.

 

I would just be happy finishing 4th or 5th so we are at home in the second leg of the playoffs because I will have no chance of going to the away leg.

 

No chance because you are otherwise engaged or no chance because you don't have the loyalty points to obtain a ticket to a game where every single game has made at the minimum season ticket sale?

Momentum is a big factor in the semi final but there is a break between then and the final where it’s all about preparedness

 

There isn't much of a gap. My understanding is,

Season finishes 8th May
1st Leg Sun 14th May
2nd Leg Thurs/Friday 18/19th May
Final 28th May.

It's a very quick turnaround especially if we get the Friday game.

 

Haven’t seen the timetable in the past the first leg has been played on the Thursday after the final Saturday and the second leg on the following Sunday. But the it looks a lot better this year

 

I think everything has been juggled about with the Kings Coronation.

We were supposed to finish the season on the Saturday but because that has been pushed to the Monday there has been a knock on effect with the timing of the 1st and 2nd legs. There are the Sunday and the following Thurs/Friday, that has been confirmed.

The whole play off finals have been mixed up too. It usually is Two, One then Championship. It's Championship, Two then One this year.

Have we ever had a play off run which has seen us at home second?

City v Boro - home first
City v Blackpool - home first
City v Burton - home first
City v Millwall - home first
City v Fleetwood - home first.

have I missed any?

 

Just praying if we do finish in a play-off spot, that we don't draw Carlisle, as the away leg will be a nightmare for us to get to (assuming it is on a workday evening)

 

I suppose the advantage of the home leg second would be that the away leg would be on a Sunday.

incidentally I don’t think Carlisle will make the playoffs.

 

Need the second leg at VP (if we are in the play-off's). We then know what we have to do on home soil, plus the fans will see us through!

This has just been posted on Twitter. Don't know if it is true or not as I'm sure this wouldn't be hard to fake. If it is true then
if we finish 4th or 7th it's Saturday 13th at 7:45pm and Thursday 18th at 8pm, if we finish 5th or 6th it's Sunday 14th at 7pm and Friday 19th May at 8pm.

Not really. Our home form isn’t great. We are better away.

 

So what you’re saying is there’s no real advantage playing the 2nd leg at home as we could win both legs or lose both legs.
This is exactly why we do not want the playoffs.
Win the next 4 games and we won’t need to
