How Do You Feel About Competing in the Play Offs?

Ask me again in May.

 

It's all or nothing for me. If we go up its an amazing season, if we don't it's a disaster. I know that's not very rational considering the two scenarios could be decided on a margin as fine as the width of a post but it's that simple for me. If we are in the play offs I hope we are home first to get it out the way (hopefully with the tie still in tact). It looks nailed on now that the play offs are where we will end up.

 

Don't care how we get up but that's the ultimate goal. Truthfully though, I'm not overly engaged with the football atm (it's not boring but it's not exciting) but still want us to succeed, if that makes sense.

 

I would be confident of promotion if we make the play offs, so bring it on if we don't get automatic, which I think is beyond us now

 

Could do well in play offs as City hard to beat. But autos (Orient too) are there for the taking. Rupp needs to take action if we fail to get promotion as this club can, and should be doing so much better. Being Green, rainbow flags, prayer rooms, fan engagement etc are not what the fans are interested in. Sixth form progressive projects are fine if the whole meaning of this business is a success. FOOTBALL FIRST!

 

Still awaiting that ninety minute game of dominance.

I wouldn't be that surprised to see us finishing 8th after lots of draws in the run in so I'd be quite happy if we get to May and still had a chance of promotion, though it would be a significant underachievement.

 

Hate the whole playoff system. Just a money making racket for the FA ,to help them pay for Wembley. Also a complete farce that a team finishing 7th and well behind the team in 4th , can gain promotion , although we have been that route.
I wish we could return to the good old system, but maybe 4 up and down from each division, apart from say 3 relegated to the national league

 

Obviously all of us would prefer Auto’s however it is bitter sweet scenario to end up in the playoffs. We have had some success in the playoffs historically, but misery more recently.

My view is that we have to try for the auto’s, we need to attack teams now. If we go for it, we may well make it, if not we may cement ourselves in the playoffs. If we try to be cautious as we have all season then I doubt we will make the playoffs. I just want us to get the shackles off.

 

I've seen enough of us both home and away to know we can stand up to any test.
I feel we've learned a lot and have become harder to beat in the second half of the season which going into a play off campaign would be vital.
Stevenage have got worse the second half of the season, Salford leak goals and we've done the double over both.
Orient are on the slide compared to the first half of the season, and with their run in they might not make 80 points.
For me Northampton will go up as champions with the other 2 spots filled on the last day of the season.
Last 2 spots imo between Us, Stevenage and Stockport.
I base my predictions on form, opposition in the last
8/9 matches of the season and games in hand.

I'll take a play off if we can't get an auto place, it's a gamble but best team on the day is IMO better than not being involved in the mix, but I haven't given up on an auto staring with 3 points against Grimsby.

 

I don’t think we are good enough to progress past the first knockout stage. With the stakes high, does anyone think we can beat any of the top teams over two legs?

 

It gives more games near the end of the season meaning. The National League this season is a perfect example, if the top 2 went up with no play offs then the season would be over for everyone from 3rd down to possibly 16th so you would get a lot of dead games.

 

For me, if we are in the play-off's, I would prefer to play the second leg at home.
We then know what we have to do on our own soil, the place would be bouncing and the fans would get us through!!

I would also like to see relegation play offs introduced. They're currently in play in most leagues in Europe.

 

I'm just happy to have a club. Anything else is a bonus.

 

That is why i would promote and relegate more teams from each division , that would normally bring more teams into the equation. I just do not think finishing 7th and possibly 10 or more points behind 4th place should gain promotion, especially if they have missed out on goal difference or goals scored.
