Hopkin to go?

Surely after all this Edin has learned he knows nothing about football and needs a manager who knows what's he's doing. If there is legs in this and it's because Edin isn't giving Hopkin what he needs or allowing him to develop his own ideas then tbh Edin deserves the criticism he will be facing.

Well you can call him gutless if it fits with how you see things. For me he is a genuine type of bloke, and for him to walk, it would mean he hasn’t been given what he was promised.

 

Saw the post on FB and ignored it as rumour.

BUT. If he does go, then it's fairly obvious that Greg is going to be given the reigns, perhaps as temp manager until January, when someone can be appointed at the same time they can bring in players. Who comes though is anybodies idea.
IF he does go, it's down to a few reasons. One being that he wasn't supplied with what he asked (and maybe was a key reason for him taking the job). Those asks could be his own backroom staff (your guess is as good as mine why the board are not agreeing to this). Another ask could be for money in January and it's not happening. And another ask could be that he has 100% of the team and that isn't the case
Or, as mentioned it could be a case that he's leaving to save face. Perhaps he's got a few contacts within the management network who have seen his plight, and offered him a way out. Assistant manager, or a manager of a less controlling, less demanding league club would suit him.
IF he does walk for the latter reason though, I think it also shows he's a bit quick throwing in the towel. Yeah results have not gone his way, but that's because he's playing with a team he's inherited rather than put together himself. Would just be an admission of bad team management imo.

Hopkin on pulse saying we have made offers to out of contract players and they are waiting until Monday to decide!?

Must be offering pay as you play or maybe going for players who are wanting big money but trying to tempt them with a short term deal?

 

If highly embarrassing when the club you love even want to penny punch when it comes to getting the right management staff on board.

I don't care who they are. If an out of contract player isn't chomping at the bit to get back involved asap, they aren't the type of character we need right now.

 

You need your own staff around you.

So we can't afford compo for staff? It was clear when looking for a manager in the summer that we didn't want to pay compo.
