There were loads wanting Parkinson out in his first season. It took him a while to get his first win, then it was inconsistent results throughout the season and after the Crawley brawl we looked like going down. Remember the Plonkinson comments on old Claret and Banter. It would be terrible if Hopkin left now without a chance to bring his own players in.

I’m not saying the majority are it’s just an example if they spent most of the budget on higher earners and then try fill the rest with cheap squad fillers you’re unlikely to get great players. The high earners have been terrible too I’m not defending anyone here it’s a complete shambles. A friend commented to me that a young player turned us down to go to Port Vale (I think) and we offered him £700 per week apparently. I know nothing about what goes on just and example of what I heard.

if Hopkin walks and cites broken promises, or not been given the tools for the job or something similar - then his stock is not damaged at all.

most of the football world are looking at us as a basket case of a club as it is - I don't think Hopkin can really lose here - if he fails - well its to be expected, given the number of coaches we've been through, the rumours of meddling, and the unrest - and if he does well he's performed miracles given the issues at the club.

 

We had 'inside' info he would quit if they didn’t beat Coventry which we didn’t publically mention but we were ready for the forum going crazy and that never happened so I would take it with a pinch of salt.

If he does though he is gutless. A manager coming in after the window is shut knows what he is getting into. The job of said managed is to work with what they have and to motivate the players just to bide things over until the window opens when he can implement his own style by bringing in the players he needs for that style and quitting now just shows a lack of character. Rather than take the easy way out he should be acknowledging his failings and righting them to get the team pulling in the right direction until Jan

Someone posted he's going if we get beat at Gillingham, now if thats his own decision or the clubs I dont know but this mornings T&A is saying he is looking to bring some out of contract players in.

It all depends on what was promised though doesn’t it. I am presuming he was told he could bring in out of contract players if they offered more than what we had.

 

It would surprise me iff he walked but these to idiots in charge are enough to test anyone's patience.

 

it might not happen, he may not say that at all, it was purely hypothetical - but if it does happen and he DOES say that, all we can do is take him on face value, unless we're gonna speculate he's a liar based on things we don't know.
